Four stars for narration only because a few of the characters were voiced so similarly that it was hard to tell them apart

The story seemed good, but the narrator was so annoying I lost track of it. The pacing, phrasing and syntaxe was all wrong. My 12-year-old granddaughter would have done just as well.

Laughing Like a Loon

I'm sure the people in the car next to me think I'm crazy, but I couldn't help laughing out loud, alone in my car, at the idea of "hot dog homicide". If you love dogs, and cats, this book will put a smile on your face.
I've often wondered what my pets are thinking; now I also wonder if they are as witty as Cassie and Hugo.

Worth The Wait

I have become so fond of these characters that they feel like family. Diana's writing makes me see everything as if I witnessed the events in person.
My family and I have lived just a few miles from the Kings Mountain Battlefield Park for 26 years and have visited it frequently; the descriptions of the area are dead on. Charging up the mountain with the Overmountain Men was thrilling.
Now I'm back to waiting to see what happens next.
