The MC is a pansy who’s easily manipulated by a woman who shoes any interest. Add to that; that woman is the one who was careless and caused a death, everyone blames the MC for stupid reasons. People keep getting hurt or die because of their incompetence and stupidity and again, they blame him. They do dumb things and REFUSE to take responsibility. These moments where other people f**king up and blaming him for the result mad the book insanely hard to finish. The MC does 90% of all the work and gets 100% of all the blame with others do bad things..
His power is suppose to be controlling plants yet he’s able to almost freely manipulate potential energy.
“Air resistance was never a factor with something that heavy” said no engineer ever..

Absolutely painful. No one has any critical thinking skills. Not a dam person. This whole plot could have been solved in a day or two if any of them had more than a few brain cells to run again each other.

Spoilers:

Bad guy wants to put bad thing in water. All water is guarded. Dumb king does an event to put something into all the water in the kingdom. NO ONE THINKS THAT MAYBE THE ANNUAL EVENT COULD BE THE ISSUE.

Spoilers:

I really don’t like the trope of a patron deity holding back support then getting angry that the person is failing at something….also clear power scale would be nice. They keep saying the bad guy isn’t a deity yet she is far more powerful than the “real deities” and many of her minions are FAR more powerful. Kinda seems like the “old gods” for full of it.
Also is annoying how someone who was a king is always doing what someone wants him to. He could easily say no but he doesn’t. He grumbles then does it. He only pushes back on people he’s VASTLY more powerful. Such a warrior king.

Chapter seven and I call it quits. Good lord this is terrible. Thankfully I got this and the others on a crazy sale. MC is an absolute pansy loser. His entire mentality is that of a scared child who never grew up. This dude is suppose to be an adult. That’s just the tip of the iceberg. The dialogue is bad and forced.

The mom is pretty horrible. Because of her secrets, the MC had a really crappy life the first time. He did bad things to pay for her treatment when she had plenty that she didn’t think he should have known about. Her keeping the secret made everything worse for him. Even further than that, she’s saved yet is ungrateful and worse than before.
There’s a few plot holes but overall I really liked it.

Spoilers:

He obviously does great on his placement but he does the absolutely STUPID trope thing and thinks he did sooooo bad and of course he’s bad..🤦‍♂️ this is right after the teacher said it was impossible to fail and him learning what qualifies him for greatness. Later on in the book ANOTHER ANNOYING TROPE is used. People are going missing and no one in authority gives enough of a sh*t to do something real about it. MC does. MC saves people. Those in authority are bashing him saying he shouldn’t have done it without them there…. Later, the MC almost beats a bad dude in a fight and had to be saved by a teacher. That very teacher tells the MC that somehow HE almost lost. Lastly it’s extremely obvious a teacher is intentionally failing him, but wouldn’t you know it, the same teachers who don’t care to find missing students are the same people who don’t care about this.
Expect that, pretty good book.

It’s good but it suffers the same as the other three. The MC is still a pansy who is knowingly being manipulated by nearly everywhere. His partner is still hiding a lot but MC doesn’t even attempt to find out; he just sulks like a child. They still haven’t explained how the mom screwed her kids over. And the stats..,PLEASE shorten the stats or do what some books do and have shippable sections for stats. The MC’s takes over a minute and most of it isn’t even pertinent. Yet despite all of that crap..pretty good.

Starting off, from the VA, I thought this was going to be a saucy book, but faaaar from it.

Jack is such a pansy. Yes, he has his SMALL moments where he isn’t, but for the vast majority he is just obviously manipulated by everyone. They tell this to his face while literally laughing and all he does is complain like a little b*tch. “But what about his sister?!?!?” He can help her and keep her safe but he doesn’t. He has a route that he never uses. Everyone around him lies. Oh suuure he gets upset, but all he does is make empty threats then continues on. Hell, even those who will die if he dies lie and manipulate him. Ridiculous. More over, since he was a child he was forced to take care of his sister; first due to a bad mom then a bad relative both of which should have done it, not him. He literally raised her and what happens? Just a few months being pampered and she disregards everything the MC has struggle and sacrificed for and acts like a little sh*t when she doesn’t get to go to war.

His OBSESSION with his sister is absolutely insane. There’s family love then there’s can’t think of anything but.

Accents. The female VA mixes up accents for some of the characters.

Then there’s the days in the mountains…what kind of shitty military country takes days to react to its planes being shot down and strategic resources being lost.

Also everyone is insulting the MC because he’s weak even though everyone has decades of fighting on him. Stupid.

OH! And lastly..,good lord PLEASE stop saying every line of his stats ESPECIALLY as often as it happens🤦‍♂️.

Lastly, you find out the MC’s mother did some messed up crap that turned her kids from wealthy noble officers to poor peasant cannon fodder. THEN that whole scene is just dropped and not touched on again.

Pretty good sequel. My only real complaint is has an entire chapter that completely rips off Full Metal Alchemist and just rolls with it.

Good lord, I get how race plays a big part in some characters in the book but dam. The author is just smashing it in our faces hard. It book itself is pretty dam racist on both sides. If this is how he writes I’m glad I never got his other books. Racist and incorrect. At least I got it at a discount.
