Historia
Women can be heroes. When twenty-year-old nursing student Frances “Frankie” McGrath hears these words, it is a revelation. Raised in the sun-drenched, idyllic world of Southern California and sheltered by her conservative parents, she has always prided herself on doing the right thing. But in 1965, the world is changing, and she suddenly dares to imagine a different future for herself. When her brother ships out to serve in Vietnam, she joins the Army Nurse Corps and follows his path.

Beautiful Nurse
Revisado: 02-17-25
Not all Vietnam nurses were unknown by Nam soldiers
“Your ticket home” or send us a pic of your “beautiful(sexy) nurse” were the words most spoken to non fatal wounded as they left in a dust off chopper. Small flashes of memory from a 69 Nam Vet. Wish this audible included one or two of the pics spoken of in this book. Never got one sent back

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Historia
Fort Niagara is the key to the American continent. Whoever owns that lonely outpost at the edge of civilisation controls the entire Great Lakes region. Pitt’s grand strategy for 1759 is to launch a three-pronged attack on Canada. One army would move north from Lake Champlain, a second would sail up the St Lawrence to capture Quebec, and a third force would strike across the wilderness to Lake Ontario and French-held Fort Niagara. Commander George Holbrooke is seconded to command the six hundred boats to carry the army through the rivers and across Lake Ontario.

Narrator and voices

The narrator did a fine job. However the voice for Holbrook especially and some other individual sounded like they were doing a ridiculous comedy farce in a high pitched voice!!!!

Recaps still remain to continually interrupt the story and only facilitate the publishers pockets to breakup the story to increase its length without enhancing what is other wise a well written story

Recaps

Still too many recaps but slightly fewer than the last to offerings. Again we’ll written if the recaps could be overlooked but their length and frequency would have made the last four offerings cut to two or possibly one offering

Historia
Unbeknown to John Pearce, the private letter he is delivering on behalf of the prime minister carries the dismissal of the very man he is sailing to see. The need for a government majority to pursue the war with France means John Pearce must step down as Britain’s best sailor, regretfully relinquishing the position to the incompetent Admiral Hotham. Hotham is equally less than pleased about John Pearce, as he is the one person who knows the truth about his dishonest naval career.

Recaps
Revisado: 11-13-23
Recaps. Recaps Recaps in this story while well written in between constant regurgitation of previous volumes was so full of recaps that the recaps surely were more than any added new story are definitely a huge attempt to drag out more money for each “story” that in reality without all the recaps is no more than what amounts to a “chapter” in a normal book or story

recaps

Too much recap of previous stories probably to pad out the individual offerings so they seem like a story instead of what would normally be nothing more than a chapter

Historia
The Solarian League's navy counts its superdreadnoughts by the thousands. Not even its own government knows how enormous its economy truly is. And for hundreds of years, the League has borne the banner of human civilization, been the ideal to which humanity aspires in its diaspora across the galaxy. But the bureaucrats known as the "Mandarins," who rule today's League, are not the men and women who founded it so long ago. They are corrupt, venal, accountable to no one...and they've decided the upstart Star Kingdom of Manticore must be destroyed.

Historia
A classic novel by John D. MacDonald with an exclusive introduction written and read by Dean Koontz. When Mike Rodenska, a former journalist still grieving the loss of his wife, pays his old war buddy Troy Jamison a long overdue visit in Florida, he’s shocked at what he finds. Behind the indulgent exterior of Troy’s lush beach life - the parties, the year-round suntans, the shapely women, the infectious devil-may-care attitude of Troy and his friends - Mike senses inevitable disaster. Troy surrendered his life to drink once before.

Historia
Last seen in 1997's Flesh & Bones, Jake Lassiter is a hero unlike any other in the courtroom. Booklist called him "one of the most entertaining series characters in contemporary crime fiction." The former Miami Dolphin is still swimming with sharks in his latest, boldest novel of suspense yet. Amy Larkin is in town, looking for her sister Krista, who vanished without a trace almost two decades earlier. She seeks out Lassiter because he's the last person to have seen her alive.
