Historia
In this revolutionary book, renowned physician Gabor Maté eloquently dissects how in Western countries that pride themselves on their healthcare systems, chronic illness and general ill health are on the rise. Nearly 70 percent of Americans are on at least one prescription drug; more than half take two. In Canada, every fifth person has high blood pressure. In Europe, hypertension is diagnosed in more than 30 percent of the population. And everywhere, adolescent mental illness is on the rise. So what is really “normal” when it comes to health?

The Myth of Normal
Revisado: 12-17-23
This book gave me a wilder perception on how to cope with all types of trauma both mentally and physically, and challenging the concepts and thought of how one views the pain and suffering. Some time what we normally viewed as Normal, may be contradictory in other perspectives, thus we, sometimes need to look for other alternatives view ( more positive out of negative) in which sometime is hard to find under our moment of pain and suffering, again the concept may be hard to understand in some cases, practical is even be more challenging in most cases !

Historia
During World War II, in the middle of building an atomic bomb, the leaders of the Manhattan Project were alarmed to learn that Nazi Germany was far outpacing the Allies in nuclear weapons research; Hitler, with just a few pounds of uranium, would have the capability to reverse the entire D-Day operation and conquer Europe. So they assembled a rough and motley crew of geniuses—dubbed the Alsos Mission—and sent them careening into Axis territory to spy on, sabotage, and even assassinate members of Nazi Germany's feared Uranium Club.

Historia
The Nazi regime preached an ideology of physical, mental, and moral purity. But as Norman Ohler reveals in this gripping new history, the Third Reich was saturated with drugs. On the eve of World War II, Germany was a pharmaceutical powerhouse, and companies such as Merck and Bayer cooked up cocaine, opiates, and, most of all, methamphetamines, to be consumed by everyone from factory workers to housewives to millions of German soldiers.

Interesting insight of Hitler.
Revisado: 01-21-23
Blitzed gave me another perspective of Hitler, the man who appeared to be such an iron man on the outside but so weak on the inside, who was so afraid to face the situation and reality he faces, the man who depended to all kind of drugs, till the last minute of his life! Drugs addict who did so much harm to the world and humanity as a whole!
Something to learn from the history so humanity would not repeat it again!

Touring the future in 2041
Revisado: 09-20-22
I may not live long enough until the years of 2041, and I often wondered, what the world would be like then for my children, if you have the same questions then this is the book for you, some of this vision is happening now without notice, only it is not evenly distributed to all part of the world for you to be aware of! Only one skeptical question remain for me is not about the human capabilities to make this visions possible but rather how we could make this possible to share to all parts of the world for the benefits to mankind living in the planet!! Otherwise we will be in the parallel world of plentiful society where money is meaningless and left the poor and under developed countries behind our future perfect world !!! Good read and strongly recommended for 2022 reading challenges !!!!!!

Historia
Based on 20 years of investigative reporting and interviews with 100 practicing physicians who embrace the keto lifetstyle as the best prescription for their patients' health, Taubes' book puts the ketogenic diet movement in the necessary historical and scientific perspective. It makes clear the vital misconceptions in how we've come to think about obesity and diet (no, people do not become fat simply because they eat too much; hormones play the critical role) and uses the collected clinical experience of the medical community to provide essential practical advice.

Historia
In the late 1970s when the government mandated we get the fat out of our food, the food industry responded by pouring more sugar in. The result has been a perfect storm, disastrously altering our biochemistry and driving our eating habits out of our control. To help us lose weight and recover our health, Robert Lustig presents personal strategies to readjust the key hormones that regulate hunger, reward, and stress; and societal strategies to improve the health of the next generation.

Fructose and high fructose corn syrup is toxin!
Revisado: 12-07-20
Very informative book, and I have no knowledge that fructose and fructose hidden in high fructose corn syrup as food additive to make consumers addicted to sweetness could bake my liver like alcohol, and cause non-alcoholic fatty liver NAFL, even though I am not regular alcohol drinkers, becoming aware to your diet is crucial to your life, processing food is harmful even though you look at Nutrition Facts on the label! So much misinformation around, thus one need to know the effect of what we eat to biochemical pathways that effect hormones and feedback loops that is cause physiological effect to health, this book is saving my life, or at least my liver!!!!!!
