Historia
We are socialised to believe that schooling is synonymous with education, but it's only one approach. Self-directed education puts the child back in control of their learning. This enables children to flourish in their own time and on their own terms. It enables us to put wellbeing at the centre of education. Changing Our Minds brings together research, theory and practice on learning. It includes interviews with influential thinkers in the field of self-directed education and examples from families alongside practical advice.

Love love love this!

I actually went to order the book that is about to come out by Naomi Fisher about neurodiversity and I found it wasn’t out yet and that she’d written this one as well… so I got it and have devoured it! What an incredibly well written book. It’s one of my favorite unschooling books that I have read and I’ll be revisiting this when I feel disconnected with my focus or struggle to remember some of the why. I so appreciate the work she put into compiling the information so that it’s not just opinion but full of information that’s so helpful in understanding unschooling. I can’t wait to read her new book when it comes out at the end of the month.

I thought this was down to earth and very practical but also loaded with stories which help you see that it’s not magic but the clarity it brings to write things down, and also the healing and growth we reach when we write this stuff down as well

How do you know if you're doing this parenting thing right? With judgemental stares, off-hand comments, and outright intervention, our society shames parents, who are simply trying their best to raise children. In bearing that burden, parents pass the shame on to their own children. It's time to stop shaming each other. As you find your own parenting voice in the pages of this audiobook, let's work together to #endparentshaming and to turn to each other for support in this difficult journey of raising beautiful, complicated children.

Incredible book... I have read tons of parenting books and this is my favorite hands down - MUST READ
Revisado: 08-10-19
I love reading and parenting books are something I’ve often read... always trying to be the perfect parent and always feeling I didn’t measure up
This book takes a whole new approach. It really does deliver what it talks about on the cover. The realization that we shame parents so much in our culture and that this is such a multi dimensional role we play as parents; how she empathizes and breaks it down is incredible. I’m only a couple of hours in and already finding myself more empathic with myself and my kids and more connected, and able to hear the voice of my internal best self; the voice helping me embrace my imperfection and adore this journey; appreciating my kids and the journey for what it is. Thank you so much for this resource. I’ll be sharing this. I am not affiliated with the author and I am so glad I went for it on this one. Truly, if you’re really feeling stuck and always feeling like you’re failing, or like somethings missing... you will find a breath of fresh air here, along with practical tips and mindset shifts to love the journey you’re on quickly without the gimmicks!!! ❤️❤️❤️ I also love her voice. It’s real and clear and easy to understand and the book well delivered.

Historia
In 1967 Thomas Merton traveled to Thailand, seeking to further the Buddhist-Christian dialogue that was his passion. This beloved Trappist monk and explorer of the inner life died unexpectedly on that trip but not before writing a final letter to his brothers at the Abbey of Gethsemani in Kentucky. In the letter Merton wrote that he now realized that everything he had been searching for could be found at his own hermitage, within the Christian tradition.

Historia
When neuroscientist Susan Barry was 50 years old, she took an unforgettable trip to Manhattan. As she emerged from the dim light of the subway into the sunshine, she saw a view of the city that she had witnessed many times in the past but now saw in an astonishingly new way. Skyscrapers on street corners appeared to loom out toward her like the bows of giant ships. Tree branches projected upward and outward, enclosing and commanding palpable volumes of space.
