Ryan: I'm the newest Captain of the Devils, Chicago's NBA team, and the last thing I needed this year was for Indy Ivers, my sister's best friend, to move into my apartment. She's messy, emotional, and way too tempting. But when the team's General Manager vocalizes his blatant disapproval of my promotion to Captain, referring to me as an unapproachable lone wolf with no work-life balance, I can't think of a better way to convince him otherwise than pretending to date my outgoing roommate. The only problem? Faking it feels far too natural.

Annoying voice
Revisado: 08-25-24
I didn’t mind the male narrator’s voice at all but good heavens, the female narrator was so nasally and she sounded like each word ended with her mouth open. Awful and highly distracting, but despite that, this was a FANTASTIC story!! I wish I would’ve read it instead of listened though. Love Indy and Ryan!!!!!

I always wanted a nice, normal boyfriend. The kind you could bring home to your parents. Instead, I fell for Austin Wright. We tried this once and failed. Hard. I swore the bad-boy Wright who set my body on fire would never get a second chance, because our love is heroin-laced-gasoline-addicting and destined to go up in flames.

Narrators were awful
Revisado: 06-28-24
The story itself was fine, but my goodness - I don’t think they could’ve found worse narrators! The male narrator’s interpretation of the female voices was cringy and so distracting, and the female’s interpretation of the male voices was like Eeyore! Painful, painful, painful. I love the Wright family so this was extremely disappointing as I couldn’t enjoy Austin’s story at all. Do yourself a favor and do NOT Audible this one - try the print version. Maybe you’ll have a better experience.

To me, that's all Lucian Aston is—a highly sophisticated, posh Englishman who stars in my daydreams. Mostly because of the way he views me as a loud, boisterous, no-nonsense surgical nurse he's stuck touring London and Paris with up to the day of his groundbreaking surgery. Until then, we've got a lot of downtime to kill. So, it's only natural that I put my best foot forward to get to know him a little better. Problem is Lucian has no intention of taking a single step in his fancy wingtips to meet me halfway. That is until we strike our deal.

Literally laughed out loud!!!!
Revisado: 06-21-24
Kate Stewart is an automatic buy for me, every.single.time, and this delivered flawlessly! I don’t think I’ve laughed out loud with a book — ever, and this had me laughing multiple times! Not only were the characters written beautifully, but their love story was so heartwarming. I may need some recovery time from this one. Definitely recommend!!

Historia
Demi Crawford was Magnolia Falls royalty. I was the boxer from the wrong side of the tracks. She was the epitome of everything good, while I was broody and rebellious. We couldn’t be more different. Her family was enemy number one which made her guilty by association. I despised her before I even knew her. It was easier that way. But now she’d moved in next door to me, and she was everywhere I turned. I couldn’t avoid her no matter how hard I tried. She was beautiful and honest and sweet. Everything I knew I shouldn’t want. Shouldn’t need.

Didn’t like the narrator’s voice
Revisado: 06-09-24
This was a super cute story but I didn’t like the narrator choice. It sounded like she was talking through her teeth a lot of the time and the inflections in her voice were weird. I think if I had read this instead of listening, it would’ve been more enjoyable.

I have exactly 5 hours and 10 minutes to get from Boston to New York City or the professional opportunity of a lifetime disappears. My only travel option? The second to last seat on a discount bus. Across from the bathroom. Wearing last night’s clothes (don’t ask). All worth it if I can make it in time.

One typo, and a boy and girl connect by chance. Wishing each other a happy Valentine’s Day isn’t the end. In fact, it becomes a friendly annual tradition—with rules: no pics, no real names, nothing too personal. As years pass, the rules for their email “dates” are breaking, and they’re sharing more than they imagined—including the urge to ask…what if we actually met?

Historia
You know, being friends with two cute boys does have its benefits. There's Danny. Danny is a golden boy in every way. He has dreamy blue eyes and blonde hair that always looks perfect, even when it's windblown or been stuck under a football helmet. He's the boy every girl crushes on. The boy I get into trouble with, the boy I fight with, the hot quarterback no girl can resist, not even me. Being with Danny is like being on an adventure. He has a bright, contagious smile and abs to die for. He's pretty much irresistible.

Revisado: 05-17-24
This was such a fun story! One thing that made it hard was the really quick transitions between chapters - it just seemed like it was the next hurried sentence. Also, during the tragedy JJ faced, the narrator should’ve put more emotion into it because it made it sound like her tragedy was no big deal. Other than that, great story!!

What I thought was my pre-destined path was very much an illusion. Living seven years with regret, I realized too late that I was broken and that I only had myself to blame. I thought love could wait.... but it didn't. We'd had it all those years ago, and then I foolishly left it behind. She was all that mattered. She was all there ever was. There was no life without Dallas, no reason... except her.

Zanders: Chicago hockey isn't complete without me—everyone's favorite player to hate. I know my role, and I play it well. In fact, I thoroughly enjoy spending the majority of my game time in the penalty box before leaving the arena with a new girl on my arm each night. What I don't like is the new flight attendant on our team's private plane. She works for me, not the other way around. But I'll be sure to remind her of that, and I can guarantee, by the end of the season, she'll be begging to quit her job.

Unable to finish
Revisado: 04-12-24
I couldn’t get through this book, which I’m so disappointed about because I’ve heard great things. The “fat shaming” was ridiculous, but more than that - the male narrator’s voice was so distracting. I appreciate low voices but when it’s not even a voice but a constant low “popping”, and hearing him constantly swallow was just too much.

Historia
The first time I met Ian Kemp in the sparkling blue waters of St. Thomas, I was six years old, and we shared a summer beneath the stars. The second time I met Ian Kemp, he was a shell of the boy I once knew. Turbulent and infuriating, he refused my friendship at every turn. Like me, he was a casualty of life’s cruelty, but we were planets apart. We’d both sought refuge on the island, hoping to find our anchor. Instead, we found each other and managed to reclaim our stars...until we both got swept away.

Great love story but the narration was less than great
Revisado: 03-12-24
This was a great book but what tainted it for me was the narration. I can’t fully immerse myself in the emotions, the heartbreak, the love when one person is reading both parts (male and female). Several of Kate Stewart’s other books have the narrators only reading their own genders and it allows you to fully dive into those characters - feel the true gut wrenching emotions. Aside from that, Ian Kemp was supposed to have a South African accent; the male narrator never showed that and the female narrator spoke more like she was doing an Arnold Schwarzenegger impersonation, which was terribly distracting.
