Historia
"Thank goodness you're such a plain child. You'll have to rely on your wits." So went the words of Grandma Bebe. And for all of my growing-up years, I scoffed at the beauty of my sister and what I saw as her meaningless existence. But my wits hadn't served me well in this instance, for here I was, in jail. And while I could have seen it as carrying on the family tradition (Grandma Bebe landed in jail for her support of Prohibition), the truth is, my reasons for being here would probably break her heart."

Enjoyed this program
Revisado: 10-08-24
I liked the story. Characters were intriguing, and I enjoyed the generational interplay. Time and location of each character’s story were cleverly in interwoven by the character narration.
This required review interrupted my program and doesn’t generate customer favor. I think reviews should be offered, not demanded.

Historia
Reverend John Mark Wright has everything he could ask for: a beautiful, loving wife, a small church that cherishes his spiritual leadership, and a humble, charming home in which to build memories. The path of ministry seems to contain no roadblocks for him...until the bishop presiding over Reverend Wright is replaced by a man who can't wait to see John Mark out of his position. A series of betrayals, lies, and manipulations lands John in a place he never expected to be, and calls into question every piece of his identity.

Great story! Evidence that Father God loves to the uttermost.

I appreciated the honesty and forthright depiction of the challenges of vocational ministry. I will definitely recommend this novel.
