“Dark and Lonely Water” by Graeme Reynolds is a chilling creature feature. The beast in the novel is genuinely frightening. Victims of the creature are not cannon fodder, and there are moments of true horror. Perhaps the novel is a bit obvious regarding the denouement and several revelations. However, it is thematically rich and grounded in a terrifying inevitably. I recommend it.

I was anticipating a few creaky horror stories, however this slim collection has some effective chills to recommend. This slim collection is worth a look.

A promising novel with an intriguing premise, “The Little Sister” becomes jumbled and frustrating when the suspense should be tightening its hold upon the reader’a throat. Tracey Waples is a gifted writer (and an excellent narrator), and I will pick up her next book. “The Little Sister” begins well, but can’t quite pull off a satisfying finale.

Cheerful smut from two great purveyors of crime and sleaze. Theo Holland’s narration makes this a breezy pleasure.

"The Widower's Notebook" is the finest book I have read about grief. This is a memoir that often reads as if it were a thriller. It is completely engrossing, and heartfelt without ever being schmaltzy. I've read the book, and listened to it. Each time I was overwhelmed with empathy for Jonathan. At the most unexpected times, I found myself laughing, and then weeping. I felt elevated by this book. It is Santlofer's finest book. His narration of the audiobook is straightforward, and lovely. How he made it through the final chapter without crying I do not know. It is lovely, wonderful, and above all, honest. I recommend it unreservedly.
