McElhenney has a unique style; his humor shines through even when he's writing horror. Always entertaining, and always with an optimistic view of humanity - even as he parodies our foibles.

Alan Aldersley-Byrne is a talented reader. He conveys the mood of the piece well, keeps all the character voices distinguishable, and has taught me a few things about UK accents. I would love to workshop with this guy.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

If I had imagined for one minute that Correia's hero could possibly fail at anything, the story might have held my interest. As it stands, it is nothing more than a self-indulgent romp with a superhuman character bashing monsters, villains, and liberals without breaking a sweat, all in the name of good customer service in the absence of any government regulation. Tom Stranger is Mary Sue in a bowtie, carrying along his liberal arts intern whipping boy for the ride.

Has The Adventures of Tom Stranger, Interdimensional Insurance Agent turned you off from other books in this genre?

If I'm going to read superhero fiction, I generally prefer the characters to be more three-dimensional. Failing that, they should at least avoid making blatant political statements. Larry Correia did not manage to turn me away from pulp fiction, superhero fiction nor even parodies of either, but he has managed to turn me away from his works.

What about Adam Baldwin’s performance did you like?

Adam Baldwin was the sole redeeming factor of this audiobook. At times I could believe I was hearing Adam West as Tom Stranger. I did cringe slightly upon hearing him vocalizing the sound effects, but we cannot edit the scripts we are given.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Adventures of Tom Stranger, Interdimensional Insurance Agent?

By and large, I consider this a lightweight fluff adventure of no consequence, and would have regarded it as largely forgettable. If I were an editor, I doubt I'd have seriously considered it for publication. However, as a reader, I can only suggest that the author avoid offending large swaths of his audience by ham-handedly pushing his political agenda.

Any additional comments?

In the end, I suppose I must thank Audible for offering this sample at no cost to the reader, for it will helped me to avoid this author's other work - the free market at work. However, I honestly feel as if I should be charging for my time spent listening to and reviewing drivel such as this.
