This might be the only book I’ve listened to that I not only never saw the end coming but didn’t make me feel gypped by using a surprise ending that made no sense. I thoroughly enjoyed this book from beginning to end.

All of my family women that I used to go to for advice are gone now and that can leave you feeling very alone. Thank God for Mel Robbins. She is that big sister all of us needs. She hit on every topic I needed and then some. If you need help learning to let go control of your adult children, your employees, and even friends you try to manage, this book will be invaluable. And even more importantly, learn how to manage your own life. Thank you Mel, now I need to go listen to it again 😊❤️❤️❤️

This story did not disappoint. Answered all the questions I asked from the original series while growing in depth to make Haymitch a sensitive young man reminding me more of Peeta than of Katniss. Haymitch had the heart of a poet and loved each of his allies even when he tried not to. It is that kind of heart that dictators and oppressors cannot kill and Haymitch proves over and over his purity no matter how the capital tried to corrupt him.

Loved this fresh view on killers and their victims. It’s hard to think of a murder/mystery with humor but this author did. Seeing what happened after the murder from the victims point of view gave the focus to them rather than the killer. The author managed to look at it with a sense of humor that is rare. Most writers worry about offending their readers and tend to not look look too closely at the dead bodies and what happens after the bodies are abandoned. Couldn’t stop listening ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I couldn’t stop listening to this story woven around a missing mother and the daughters who never forgot her. Sisters set out to recreate their mother’s journey around Australia in a bus full of kids to find what happened to their mother who disappeared one rainy night , never to be heard from again.

Loved the pace of this story. Moved along quickly and kept you guessing. It did leave some unanswered questions but that is what a great read does.

I loved this book and plan to go back and read it also because listening made it easy to miss things. Very intelligently written and I can’t wait to listen to the next in the series, I’m hoping there is more:). Like the Handmaid’s Tale, it is frighteningly close to how things can go drastically wrong in today’s society with just the change of a few laws.

This book was so worth listening to and because of its complexity and length I will be listening to it again very soon. The author/narrator was the perfect choice to read his story to us and added much organic voice to it. Although very lengthy, all of it was needed to give the impact this story deserved.
Mr. Verghese is indeed a great storyteller.
