Solid book
Revisado: 07-15-17
I have a strong value for academic, heavily cited, well founded work. It bolsters credibility and is basically a more formal version of the idea of credit where credit is due, especially if those people would appreciate it. I have also personally experienced a pretty good amount of certain folks intentionally let's say copying off my homework. I largely don't care about that too much when I'm allowing it, though it's probably more valuable to learn with a tutor directly. When somebody goes out of their way to an extent to do the right thing and provide good credit where credit is due; however, it's significantly conducive to value and I have a thorough appreciation of that. Throughout this book (and also Anthony Scaramuccis other books actually) he does make note of a pretty good number of people in reasonable detail who have helped him out or made him who he is. That makes the book for me. I would recommend you purchase all of his books he's released to date. They likely have an overwhelmingly positive expected value for you if you pick up just a point or two from each book. This would be especially true for people still in university as the impact this can have on you and the people you interact with over the course of your career would obviously be increased exponentially if you only factor basic compound interest.

Pleasantly Surprised

What made the experience of listening to Hopping Over the Rabbit Hole the most enjoyable?
Pretty detailed description and reveals a considerable amount about the author that many wouldnt in the same position most likely.
What other book might you compare Hopping Over the Rabbit Hole to and why?
Its a fairly unique, candid sales and strategy perspective. Some of it is very reminiscent of Harvard Business School course content but in a real world context.
Which scene was your favorite?
Observations regarding human interactions and basically the self destructive nature of infighting/dynamics that shift in multi party conversations/politics later in the book cant be undervalued. He just says it straight up, which I literally havent read it like that even though I've been very aware of the data for many years from several studies among other things and do a considerable amount of diverse reading. They should literally add that to a lower level management course at Harvard. It summarizes something that is that fundamental to human applied behavioral psychology/group dynamics, at least as far as the species currently identified as human currently is, elegantly in 30 seconds in a way people can absorb. It also highlights in the larger context from the book an aspect that practically speaking is undervalued/underutilized in a number of contexts in business considering social media and digital interactions.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
A pretty candid exploration of the business experiences and pivots of Anthony Scaramucci.
Any additional comments?
I didnt expect this book to actually get into that much detail. I was pleasantly surprised. Interesting to read a book about something where a good portion of whats discussed you watched unfold in real time in the course of your own day to day business.

Good content

Anthony Scaramucci is overall a pretty straight shooter and I've been aware of his work for many years. He is pretty intelligent and his ability to adapt to situations is something that has lead to his success. There are good insights to be gleaned from this book.
Also there are a number of pretty amusing sound bites when read in the tone Don Hagen delivers them.
It's pretty rare that I rate something 4 stars.
If you don't know anything about hedge funds or even more so funds of funds this is a great intro. If you have reasonable experience you will likely find a new perspective on something. In the time I took to write this review I potentially could have helped add value in excess of $1 bil... if you are on the fence about it just get it.
