I loved it!!! I’m so glad Percy and the gang is back together. It was yet another great adventure. The stakes are much lower—no world ending—and yet somehow I cared just as much.

Yes, Yes, YES! The book I’ve been waiting for!

I loved The Flatshare — like listened to it over 20 times, maybe 30. Her other books have been good, but they have not struck the same note as that first one, until this one. From the moment it began I kept thinking “This is the one I’ve been waiting for! This is the one I’ve been waiting for!“ I am so happy to have a new favorite and am already hitting start again.

Love it!

I love this book and love this series! It’s smart kids banding together to save the world! As an adult I can appreciate that it’s brilliantly written. My kids are too young now but I can’t wait to share it with them when they are older. It’s a wonderful story of friendship and courage that celebrates smarts instead of looks down on them.

Not what I expected

I really enjoyed the Father Brown TV show and so was quite looking forward to this audiobook. The nondescript, middle-aged man was not what I was expecting. He comes off as rather foolish and stupid before ingeniously solving the riddle. These are more like short stories (whereas I was expecting a full-length) and they felt unresolved to me. Either FB would let the murder get away with it or we simply wouldn’t see the fallout. The narrator seemed like a perfect match for the character, though a little drowsy for my taste. Speeding up the Reading did the trick nicely!

I loved it!!!!

Like romance? This is for you! Have (or are close to) a kid? This is for you! I was doubled over at all the little day to day mishaps and mayhem these kids get into and watching two previously non-parents deal with it. As a young mom, I loved every minute. And in between laughing so hard that I worried my toddler, a sweet romance formed between the two main characters. I will definitely be coming back for more with this author!

A new version to love

I grew up listening to Little Women. This wonderfully classic tale is well read by Alison Larkin. I was a little disappointed that they stopped at part one and did not include part two in the recording. The interview at the end provided interesting insight into the author and the novel that I hadn’t known before. All in all, a very enjoyable listen.

Fun and funny bit of fluff

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I picked this book up, but I got an enjoyable, gossipy bit of fun. The ghost was a ton of fun and it was a great, wacky cast. I got a little tired with her wishy washing over a certain decision it was clear she needed to make. But that was my only complaint. It was clean and fun and I would easily recommend it.

Wanted to like it more than I did

At the beginning of the book, I kept thinking how does this girl not realize that the boy likes her? It’s very obvious. But I was fine with overlooking that. In the middle it got really good. I was hooked, I was excited to see where it was going to go, and I liked the couple who we were rooting for. But with two hours left to go in the audiobook, I wanted to strangle her. I significantly speeded up the narration and was shaking my fist and yelling at thin air while preparing lunch. It was so clearly obvious what she needed to do for a long time and she kept acting as if she had no choice, which she did. It was really annoying. The end was sweet, and I enjoyed it. But I was too annoyed at that point to fully enjoy it. If helplessness doesn’t bother you, then go for this book because I really did enjoy the rest. But if you are someone like me who starts yelling “grow a spine”, this may not be the best book for you.

Loved it!

While fluff and fun abound, this book gives even more. I thought there would be a fair amount of stereotypical pageant cattiness, but it wasn’t that. It was about strong women coming together and making each other stronger. I loved it from start to finish.
