Historia
Conley Hawkins left her family’s small town newspaper, The Silver Bay Beacon, in the rearview mirror years ago. Now a star reporter for a big-city paper, Conley is exactly where she wants to be and is about to take a fancy new position in Washington, DC. Or so she thinks. When the new job goes up in smoke, Conley finds herself right back where she started, working for her sister, who is trying to keep The Silver Bay Beacon afloat - and she doesn’t exactly have warm feelings for Conley. Soon, she is given the unenviable task of overseeing the local gossip column.

not my favorite.
Revisado: 01-04-21
im a huge loyal MKA fan having read all of her books. this was wayyy to long with wayyy to much repetition . you get the stories 1st hand, through a 2nd , again in copy and in way to many other places. plus Connelly was way too unlikable. i didnt admire her diligence and determination, just found her abrasively annoyingly. not a favorite. i gave 3 ☆s because of McInerney's narration. wishing i had my 13+ hours back.

Great!!
Revisado: 06-13-17
I am a very picky reader. If a book doesn't come to life for me with believable sympathetic characters I delete it unfinished. I bought this on April 1 and it took me until June 1 to get around to listening to it because i was afraid it would be cliche. . I laughed out loud. And a lot of that goes to the credit of the narrator . Katherine Kellgren and her voices are incredible and to those who find her irritating and over-the-top I can only imagine that your idea of a good narrator is being read aloud to . This is the third book I've read /listen to that has been narrated by kellgren and she brings the book and characters to life. The story itself was entertaining if a little predictable at times , but it didn't seem to matter it was a fun and enjoyable read and it sent me looking for more books by Cooperman. Unfortunately that search came up empty . And so for now I will search for audiobooks performed by Kellgren.

Ughh...
Revisado: 04-15-17
This had potential...until Chapter 12. . . Then all they could do was argue and have make up sex. The story got lame and predictable. Darcy was an almost "simple" character with no common sense. There is a difference between romance and sex...more sex just makes for a longer drawn out tale, no more substance. By the end of this tale I could have cared less. While the narration was okay, her take on a southern drawl was laughable. I'm avoiding any more of Ms. Martin s other titles.

Historia
Charlotte owns a Birmingham bridal boutique. But with her own wedding day approaching, why can’t she find the perfect dress - or feel certain she should marry Tim? Then Charlotte purchases a vintage dress in a battered trunk at an estate sale. It looks brand-new, shimmering with pearls and satin, hand stitched and timeless in its design. But where did it come from? Who wore it? Charlotte’s search for the gown’s history begins as a distraction from her sputtering love life. But it takes on a life of its own as she comes to know the women who have worn the dress.

Historia
Lo Blacklock, a journalist who writes for a travel magazine, has just been given the assignment of a lifetime: a week on a luxury cruise with only a handful of cabins. The sky is clear, the waters calm, and the veneered, select guests jovial as the exclusive cruise ship, the Aurora, begins her voyage in the picturesque North Sea. At first Lo's stay is nothing but pleasant: The cabins are plush, the dinner parties are sparkling, and the guests are elegant. But as the week wears on, frigid winds whip the deck, and gray skies fall.

Good but . . .
Revisado: 08-12-16
This was an enjoyable read...but ...it was about 5 chapters too long ... repeating details already repeated ... I got so irritated when the hysterical female card was played. So stereotypical & unnecessary. You could skip the last few chapters and go straight to the last and not miss anything relevant. Fast readers will skim through those parts, others will have no trouble finding a place to take a break. The narrator however was EXCELLENT!!!
