It’s a name I’ve been duct taped with my whole life
It’s stuck in with the secrets that burn me
The ones that protect the evil doers
They make it stick by using my love for others
That the telling of the truth will hurt them or get them hurt
The irony and the anger burn the house down
When you grow to understand the dupe
The fucking monstrosity of the twisted mind
You sold your life to protect me and thus enabled it
You could have told and saved yourself
You believed the evil doer that it was all on you and you were a savior - honorable - loving
Isn’t it no wonder in listening to the world outside of these sound blocking glass walls
The reality of your own worth - that little kid inside never got to understand
The power of a child to sacrifice and so we do
The innocence of a child so they take
As grown women we are here and roaring with rage and justice calls
No one will ever make me sell out for any reason
I know my worth and will sit alone if need be
Yet as we all raise our voices against the false dichotomies set before us we realize there is enough. There is no us or them - just all of us
This banquet table is for all women past, present and future and our worth is in our bones, the skin that covers it, the energy we give and send together in support - we are more than a pod squad - we are more than women listening - we are a fucking revolution of higher ground for what we love, who we love and the true definition of love….thank you for saying all the hard things out loud because when we just whisper it to ourselves it can’t really catch fire - let’s burn the world down with this terribly beautiful love ❤️🙏🏻🌎

The characters are insightful, personable and the plot is suspenseful. The view of family and honor strike a chord with me and the society we now live in giving this a romantic and melancholy feel for me. Great read!!

Gunslinger Series

I grew up loving Stephen King because my grandmother passed her books on to me. My grandfather read Louis Lamour and passed those down to me with Zane Grey books. The Dark Tower series is like combining the two and makes the trip feel like I have them holding a hand all the way through. There couldn't be anything better.
