More Grace and Rory, Please!!!!

I absolutely loved this book! Grace and Rory’s story gives us some more pieces of the Cake story and I’m impressed with the details the author reveals in these books about how Jake’s horrific experience affected each of his family members. As usual, Bengtsson delivers fantastic character development; clever and entertaining dialogue; authentic, relatable characters with all the feels and a story that I didn’t want to end including a perfect bonus epilogue. Jill expertly weaves multiple timeframes and storylines together to give the reader just enough detail and background from the rest of the series for this story to make sense. I loved the appearances of the much beloved characters from the other books. The narrators were perfectly cast. Zachary Webber delivers a powerful performance as Rory. His portrayal of little kids as well as regular flawed people is just amazing; sweet, funny, touching, poignant - he just evokes all the feels having you cracking up one minute and tearing up the next. Andi Arndt really is one of the best female narrators ever and her performance as Grace as a little girl, a teen and as a young woman was perfect. It’d be hard not to fall in love with sweet, strong Grace but we do get to see a realistic side of her that Andi portrays so well. She shows us an imperfect Grace with vulnerability that is endearing. All in all, this is one of my favorites of the Cake series. I definitely want more Grace and Rory!!

I LOVE Cake!

This is such a great book! It is so well written. The story is engaging and the characters are so easy to fall in love with. Their interactions and dialogue are very entertaining! The narration is perfection! Andi Arndt and Joe Arden are two of my favorite narrators and they are a dream team for this book! This will be a definite re-listen for me! I LOVED it!

Very engaging, wonderful story

I listened to this book on a road trip and loved every minute. I’m a fan of both narrators who did a masterful job of bringing the characters to life; both the main characters and many other minor ones. Since it switches between two time periods, it’d be easy to get confused but the narration is so well done, I had no trouble following it. The characters are well developed and there is a lot of beautifully written and performed emotion that hits all the feels. There is even a twist or two that I didn’t see coming. It’ll definitely be a re-listen for me. I loved it!

I want more CAKE!!

I have been impatiently waiting for this audiobook and it was totally worth the wait! Jill did such an amazing job developing the characters. One of the things I love about her writing is her banter between characters. It’s very entertaining and I was laughing out loud often. I already knew the McKallister family from the other books in the series and funny, feisty Jess is a great addition to the McKallister universe. And then there’s Quinn; I knew he’d be special. He’s perfectly written and Zachary Webber did not disappoint. He really brought Quinn to life. Andi Arndt was wonderful voicing Jess. There are so many things I loved about this book. There were a few twists I didn’t see coming and so much emotion there. Thanks for such a great book! I’m eagerly awaiting Grace’s story now!

I loved this story

Tim Paige really made this for me! Kacey Shea has written a great story and his narration was perfect......he brings out all the feels. Lessa is good, too; but her narration, especially in the beginning, felt really slow to me so I sped it up a bit and that made it work. This is one of my favorites this year.

Fun Listen

This was fun! It was a nice change to have multiple short stories in one listen and even though I had not read all of the related stories, it wasn’t a problem to follow the stories and characters. Lauren Blakey’s stories never disappoint! Love all these narrators, too!

I don’t want the Cake series to ever end!

I love this series and was so excited for book 5 to come out. I love the way J. Bengtsson writes. I laughed out loud and teared up as I find the characters so relatable. I really liked the narration - I feel it contributes to bringing the characters and story to life. I’m never ready for these books to end; I’ve really enjoyed them all and will definitely listen again.
