Zachary Ezra Rawlins is a graduate student in Vermont when he discovers a mysterious book hidden in the stacks. As he turns the pages, entranced by tales of lovelorn prisoners, key collectors, and nameless acolytes, he reads something strange: a story from his own childhood. Bewildered by this inexplicable book and desperate to make sense of how his own life came to be recorded, Zachary uncovers a series of clues - a bee, a key, and a sword.

Disappointing after Night Circus
Revisado: 02-08-20
I loved The Night Circus and hope it’s eventually made into a movie, but this book was very disappointing. I expected another excellent story but this was disjointed and in an effort to create ‘over-lapping stories’ the author will lose her following. Unfortunate

Historia
History tends to cast the early years of America in a glow of camaraderie when there were, in fact, many conflicts between the Founding Fathers - none more important than the one between George Washington and Thomas Jefferson. Their disagreement centered on the highest, most original public office created by the Constitutional Convention: the presidency. It also involved the nation's foreign policy, the role of merchants and farmers in a republic, and the durability of the union.

Interesting perspective with incredible bias
Revisado: 06-19-19
If you like books with 'not a little' bias, this is the book for you. The author refers to himself as an historian, but in listening to this book i was expecting to learn something new about the relationship between Washington and Jefferson, but any new facts quickly became lost in the poor historical perspective from this modern-day James Callender. Each chapter contains 'not a little' use of the phrase 'not a little' so a thesaurus could be a useful gift to the 'historian.'

Disappointing
Revisado: 09-23-13
The basic premise of this story seemed very promising, but I was disappointed throughout -I was tempted to stop listening but hate to do that. The performance was quite good, but I couldn't help focusing on how weak the story was. Unfortunate, this could have been great fun.

Historia
Even the most die-hard baseball fans don't know the true story of William Blockade Billy Blakely. He may have been the greatest player the game has ever seen, but today no one remembers his name. He was the first - and only - player to have his existence completely removed from the record books.

Very good short stories
Revisado: 12-29-11
Blockade Billy was a very good, fast paced story that I enjoyed very much. I am a Stephen King fan and with the exception of the ending to Blockade, which I found brief and somewhat anticlimactic, there were unique elements in the story that I thought were terrific. Morality was equally good, a little shocking and scary, as you would expect. Overall very good and enjoyable stories.
