Historia
In the snow country of Japan during World War II, we meet Morie Sawataishi, a fierce individualist who has chosen to break the law by keeping an Akita dog hidden in a shed on his property. By the time of the Japanese surrender in 1945, there are only sixteen Akitas left in the country. The survival of the breed becomes Morie's passion and life. Devoted to the dogs, Morie is forever changed.
In beautiful prose that is a joy to read, Sherrill opens up the world of the Dog Man and his wife, providing a profound look at what it is to be an individualist in a culture that reveres conformity, and what it means to live.

Excellent story.

I really enjoyed this audiobook. The descriptions of the mountains and of those times during the war were both heartbreaking and fabulous. I have enjoyed this book so much that I have listened to it twice. Such an interesting piece of history for such a beautiful breed.

Historia
In this special recording, we travel with Dr. Gerald G. Jampolsky and Dr. Diane Cirincione into the most intimate of their internal journeys. We move with Jerry from militant atheism through an awakening by direct experience with the Divine. Detailed accounts of his spiritual transformation are chronicled through his never-before-seen poetry and notes to himself from the early years when the unpublished manuscript of A Course in Miracles was placed in his hands and, in that moment of Divine Grace, his life changed forever.

I gave up.

Horrible performance. I mean awful and I'm wondering who would have published this audio as it so horrible. Like there's a period after every. single.word. I really wanted to hear this, but it's impossible to follow. Just terrible.

Statistics & studies - yawn
Revisado: 05-06-18
Author is married with kids, and aside from a stint in his 20’s, he’s never really lived solo. So instead of writing about experiences, he makes a book of statistics and studies. Most of the subjects are depressing and there’s zero focus on how different the genders feel about solo life. Women tend to love living solo while men want someone to care for them. Way too much focus on negative aspects of solo living and it grew tiresome. There’s a whole culture of happy solo people who are thrilled to be alone and it was never mentioned. There are much better books about living solo. This was disappointing.

Would you try another book from Suzanne Degges-White and Judy Pochel Van Tieghem and/or Erin Bennett?
No.
Any additional comments?
Painfully boring as you wade through statistics and unimportant information. Ridiculous. A lot of wasted time on unuseful information.
