Historia
Based on a true story, Queenie of Norwich is the compelling tale of one remarkable girl's journey to womanhood. Spanning the first half of the 20th century, Queenie's story is one of heartbreak and triumph, love and loss, and the power of family. It is a story of redemption, and how, with grit and determination, anything is possible.

Not my idea of good old days
Revisado: 04-05-25
Ellen was dealt a lousy hand in life when she got the mother she had. The best thing her mother ever did for her was to sell her to Julia.. It was wonderful to see that Nell realized this. And took time to thank Julia before she died.
Nell was a fighter, and the only person she took crap from was her mother, but at the same time she had a heart of gold. Lesson learned, don’t judge a book by its cover. And don’t judge people until you’ve walked in their shoes.

Historia
In 1989 Ken Follett astonished the literary world with The Pillars of the Earth, set in 12th-century England. Readers and listeners ever since have hoped for a sequel. At last, here it is. Although the two novels may be listened to in any order, World Without End also takes place in Kingsbridge, two centuries after the townspeople finished building their exquisite Gothic cathedral. The cathedral is again at the center of a web of love and hate, greed and pride, ambition and revenge.

A kaleidoscope of life and the people we meet.
Revisado: 01-29-24
once again, Cathy, Lamb has written a compelling book with such a diverse group of characters showing the reader that most people we meet along the way have something good to offer if we give them a chance. A compelling story full of heartbreak, overcome by love.

Historia
According to Confucius, “an educated woman is a worthless woman,” but Tan Yunxian—born into an elite family, yet haunted by death, separations, and loneliness—is being raised by her grandparents to be of use. Her grandmother is one of only a handful of female doctors in China, and she teaches Yunxian the pillars of Chinese medicine, the Four Examinations—looking, listening, touching, and asking—something a man can never do with a female patient.

Outstanding! Bravo!
Revisado: 06-10-23
I think, perhaps this book is the authors, best book yet, but then I have thought that before. So much truth then, and today is found in this book whether it be a mother-in-law, or a daughter-in-law, a doctor that is not listening. We women are special, and should never forget it.

Educating wonder!
Revisado: 03-25-22
This book is an emotional roller coaster as well as a real education. Although the language is quite rough, it is probably necessary to accomplish what the author had in mind. So many subjects, so many lifestyles ,taboos, and misconceptions brought into the light. Bravo!

Revisado: 02-29-20
Well this story takes place in present time, it is full of Chinese customs of the past, Some very difficult to even read about. This book definitely stirs all your emotions. I would love to know how much is true and how much is fiction regarding the customs and rituals of the tea. This is my second Lisa See book,
