So much game dev advice is all vision, no revenue talk. This audiobook finally gave structure to the business side of things in a way that didn’t feel like a lecture. I was folding laundry and kept stopping to jot down notes. It doesn’t sugarcoat anything but also doesn’t talk over your head. Super helpful if you’re trying to treat your studio like a business, not just a hobby.

Advice for Working Remotely

I have been working from a home office for the past few years but I manage a team that also works remotely. I've never read a management book that even addresses this, so I was pleasantly surprised when I listened to this audible. The section on remote team leadership was very interesting. I've used a few of the strategies to promote connection and collaboration with my virtual staff, and it seems very positively received so far. This content is incredibly relevant for modern managers and I def recommend this book.
