Superstar comedian and Hollywood box-office star Kevin Hart turns his immense talent to the written word by writing some words. Some of those words include: the, a, for, above, and even even. Put them together and you have the funniest, most heartfelt, and most inspirational memoir on survival, success, and the importance of believing in yourself since Old Yeller.

Checks in the Bible?
Revisado: 12-21-17
Hollywood never seems to get enough of saying God Almighty's name with a cuss word. It's truly a shame because Kevin Hart can actually be funny, but he disappoints me every time when he cusses with Gods' name. This book would have been better had Kevin stuck with just telling his story. I finished this book respecting his mother more than Kevin honestly. That woman was obviously a hard working individual who found God. Kevin talks about his mother supporting him financially while he pursued his career as a comedian, and how much he loved her and struggled through life. His mom agree to pay his rent if only Kevin read his Bible. Finally Kevin opened his Bible and found all the checks his mother had written to pay his rent.
In todays society nobody loves cussing at other gods, just God Almighty in the Bible. The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. How disrespectful to cuss with Gods' name. Rarely do you ever hear a person cuss at allah, or buddha, or any other religion in fear of offending someone. I guess nobody cares about God of the Bible anymore. Sad actually, because there is a lot of talent in this world that throws it all away when they disrespect God Almighty.
With all that said, I'm Christian and proud of it. I will continue to not support those who feel saying God's name with a cuss word or cussing at God is "ok."

Dear Salatin,
Thank you for sharing your opinions, knowledge, and wisdom with anyone who cares to hear. . I must say-well done sir! Well done! Looking forward to reading your other books. This particular book was so well written, I intend to purchase a hard copy as well. My future children and other family members need to hear your perspective. I've always had a curiosity about farming. My biggest problem was how to make a living off of it LOL. I'm a truck driver by trade(woman trucker to be more specific) and I've had small backyard gardens for years. Anyways, thank you for finding the necessary time to write this book. Huge thanks to all who were involved in making this book possible. Thank you to all, and thank you Joel!

Not impressed
Revisado: 11-06-17
Dude is somewhat selfish, and the story is not exactly that great. Stopped reading after the 6th chapter due to a lack of interest. Almost felt like the guy was banking on his story being "that great" to sell and earn a bountiful income from it. For me, the story just wasn't that appealing. Maybe others will find it to be more interesting.

Almost debt free :) thank God!!
Revisado: 10-20-17
Rachel and her dad both have inspired me to come out of debt again. Ive been out of debt several times, but fall right back into the same pits for various reasons. For years I knew being debt free was better than owning debt, but lacked the encouragement I guess to reach that goal permanently. My new life plans include staying out of debt for LIFE! A lot of what Rachel discussed in this book were things Ive heard Dave(her dad) discuss on the radio, but I also learned a few things from Rachel as well. All in all it was a great book and will be looking forward to my own debt free scream!!

Giving believers more inspiration
Revisado: 10-15-17
I think often times we as believers don't give the words of Christ enough thought. Or perhaps we over think what we read in the Bible. Colton kept everything simple and easy to understand. It's heartwarming to hear how this child's testimony touched others across the globe. Most importantly how his story exposed others to Jesus Christ. Sometimes we feel that "our" story isn't that big of a deal, or lacks significance. But as the Bible states, we can do all things through Christ Jesus. And since God brings us through our trials and tribulations which helps brings us closer to God Almighty, it also shows how important God thinks we all are. After all, He created all of us. Glad this child was shown Heaven and got to spend a special time with God and Jesus. This child along with his family have great things ahead of them :). Keep the faith, and fight the good fight!!

Historia
The Man Who Quit Money is an account of how one man learned to live, sanely and happily, without earning, receiving, or spending a single cent. Suelo doesn't pay taxes, or accept food stamps or welfare. He lives in caves in the Utah canyonlands, forages wild foods and gourmet discards. He no longer even carries an I.D. Yet he manages to amply fulfill not only the basic human needs - for shelter, food, and warmth - but, to an enviable degree, the universal desires for companionship, purpose, and spiritual engagement.

Roots are weak and faith was thin
Revisado: 08-26-17
Grew up a christian and floundered for many years in his faith. Honestly, think the guy turned gay because he couldn't figure out how to talk to girls. Not because he had a bad relationship with a girl. He had plenty of women who were interested and he naturally was curious to be with them. Somehow he figured since he couldn't talk to any of them in a romantic way, then he MUST be gay. Later in the book the guy sounds like he regrets even being in a relationship with another guy. Anyways, his life took a huge nose dive after coming out the closet and committed suicide. He survived the suicide and continues to live with no money. The one problem i see with living in this current world moneyless is the power of the government to seize everything you thought you owned and declaring martial law. Honestly wished the author had excluded Suelos personal sexual life because that did not add to the story. If he had to mention it, then he should have just simply mentioned he was gay and then moved on. Lastly, this guy continues to struggle with his faith in God of the bible and also enjoys studying other religions. Personally, i feel the dude experienced a few demons possibly. Wish this guy the best of luck though. Unfortunately, if this was a family with children, the government would snatch the children up so fast they wouldn't have time to even think about not using money. I totally get why this dude quit money. His whole literally perspective of living the way Jesus showed us is another thing i do admire about the guy. Just wish he would stop floundering with his faith and stick to something. You can't join bits and pieces of various religions and call it one. Not saying no christian suffers or experiences tough times. But dang! Give me a break. If you flounder around with your faith then what exactly are your principles? Besides, let's be honest. This dude was missing something in life and i'm not sure what exactly but he keeps looking for something. Something obviously money will never be able to buy or replace. Just hope this guy picks up his bible and keeps on praying to God of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob. That's the only hope this dude has if you ask me.

Not as extreme as I thought it would be.
Revisado: 07-30-17
More money = more stress and less liberty. I was disappointed that he became a squatter on someone else's farm and offered his free labor as compensation. Another factor was the use of items people would freely give away for various reasons. Lastly, his large dependance for food waste from grocery stores, and less on what he was able to cultivate.
Honestly figured the guy would live off of a portable mini greenhouse and camp along the way. Something along that scenario. However, I did realize how comfortable I could live financially with a smaller income after reading this book. Not to say I didn't figure out the numbers years prior to this book. Less money is doable. However, money does make living easier in some aspects. We humans don't need as much money we think we do. Only man made money "necessary", because plants and animals grow without it every day :)
One thing I can agree with the author is the fact that education can be free. The student just has to be willing to look in the right places.

When Germany invaded Poland, bombers devastated Warsaw - and the city's zoo along with it. Another dozen "guests" hid inside the Zabinskis' villa, emerging after dark for dinner, socializing, and, during rare moments of calm, piano concerts.
