Like the other Celia Fremlin books on Audible, this one pulls you in from the very beginning and keeps you going until the end. Another great read! The narrator Clare Corbett is wonderful and brings all of the books to life.

All of the books in this collection are, of course, already German classics and need no recommendation. The narration of such long and complex books can however fail the books and put the reader off. Not so in this case! Each novel comes alive and is vital. Peter Noble deserves congratulations, not just for such a massive task, but for a performance so well done! Excellent narration! Well worth a listen!

Forget this dramatization of the Frederica books! The performance is excellent but the books are lost. The abridgment and cutting is brutal. Trite figures play a part and all the significance and profundity of the books is lost.
