Historia
In the dead of night, shots ring out over the grounds of a sprawling English estate. The world-weary butler Eustace recognizes the gunman—his longtime employer, Mr. Crowe—and knows he must think and act quickly. Who is the man lying dead on the lawn? Who is the woman in his company? Can he clean up his master's mess like he always has before? Or will this bring a new kind of reckoning?

Pointless
Revisado: 01-14-23
Boring. No narrative thread nor character development. Long stretches of florid writing that seems to scratch an itch the writer had rather than serve the piece. Did this author have no editor?

Historia
At first glance, the death of media mogul “Big Bill” Argosy appears to be suicide. But his widow, Laila, thinks otherwise. Because Big Bill made enemies - lots of them. And he’d rather fight to the death than take his own life. When the authorities refuse to investigate, Laila turns to the one person who can see connections in the universe where others can’t: Zip Ono, a young private investigator - and practicing Buddhist. Zip quickly learns that there’s no shortage of suspects who might very well want Argosy dead.

Religious fanaticism and proselytizing
Revisado: 08-24-21
Religious fanaticism and endless proselytizing are constants throughout this book. Doesn’t matter if it’s Buddhism - it’s still heavy handed and off-putting. I don’t care what perspective is being laid out. I choose not to be preached at endlessly.

Spoiler alert
Revisado: 12-28-19
Wealthy Floridian gets away with crime abetted by cronies and pampered wifey. Our National Nightmare. I can listen to this sort of abomination by turning on the news.
