I am LOVING this podcast! I love the way the host is genuinely excited about every subject she discusses. You can tell she's very knowledgeable but she does it without being a "know-it-all". It's a very fine line and she does a great job of not stepping over it. Her guests are always interesting and often hilarious. Give HILF a listen, you be hooked instantly!

My new binge listen!

I'm not sure how I found this series...it's possible I heard a shout out on And That's Why We Drink, Morbid, or Beach Too Sandy? But however I stumbled upon it, I'm glad I did! When I find a podcast I like, I tend to really focus on it and listen to every episode, which is why I was looking for a new one...I had already binged my favorites and needed something to fill the time waiting for new episodes to release. Only instead, I found one I liked so much that I have to go listen from the beginning!
These women are funny, respectful, and socially conscious without being too political. It takes a special gift to make such heavy and dark subjects seem a little lighter, and they make the more light-hearted subjects even more entertaining!

I love the chit chat

I actually love hearing the chit chat in the beginning...it feels like getting caught up with old friends. It's been this way since the beginning, you can fast forward if you don't like it. They're certainly not the only podcast that does this lol.
I find you guys entertaining, as always! The spooky spooks are my favorite!

This isn't my normal audiobook purchase, but since I loved Shane and Ryan's true crime and paranormal channels, I figured I'd check it out. I want more! I seriously was a little bummed when I heard them say "to wrap up this audiobook", and I'll definitely be buying any future installments!

I loved these books!

I'm kinda surprised these books don't have more stars, to be honest! It's true they might not be celebrated literary works, but they're great light, funny reads with a perfect amount of romance and steam! Perfect escapism, in my opinion. And Hollie Jackson is superb, as always! I listened for free on Escape but will definitely be buying the series boxset. I know I'll want to relisten to all these again...and the spin off books!

Fantastic!

I'm absolutely blown away by this series...it's one of the more unique reverse harems and at its very core, it's just simply a beautiful love story. The second book introduces us to Sabina's sister after she's rescued from a run-in with a hyena seeking vengeance. So along with the love story between Sabina and her mates, we see the story of their child unfolding, then the love story between the two sisters...which is a different kind of love, but a love story nonetheless! And we meet her destined mate, and the magic of that union. Beautifully written, perfectly narrated...I highly recommend this series!

Male narrator almost ruined it

It breaks my heart to give a poor rating for any K.A. Knight book but I'm not sure I've ever listened to such a poor narrator choice in my life. He might have been great narrating Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings but he just turned one of the darkest, sexiest books of 2020 into a cringeworthy comedy. Especially when he read Diesel's parts. It would have been a completely different book if anyone else would have narrated the male povs. Hollie Jackson was great, as always. And the story was good. Very dark, very very dirty. Please don't get it if raunchy offends you. I still look forward to anything K.a. Knight releases but I will never buy anything with Cornell Colins again.

Fantastic!

I'll have to remember to go back and review books one and two but I cannot even express how much I loved this series! It had everything I love in a reverse harem. Paranormal? Check. Fated mates? Check. A variety of magical beings? Humor? Off the charts steam including mm scenes (while with their female mate, of course!)? Check, check, and check. And the narrators were perfect, as they always are. They're two of my favorites so I was stoked to see them team up! I'll be watching for any future works from this author to hit Audible, for sure!
I will admit, the ending was a tad cheesy. It seemed a little at odds with the story, or maybe I've read too many that ended this way, tied up with a perfect little bow. But it wasn't cheesy enough to make me deduct a star or even half of one! It's still in my top ten listens, and trust me, I listen to a LOT.

Pleasantly surprised!

You know what, I actually really liked this one! It's relatively low angst, the men adore her, and there's still enough danger to make it interesting. Sometimes I read too many books with an enemy to lover trope, or with at least that one brooding alphahole, especially in RH's. But every once in awhile I need something easy. Sweet. Endearing. A good palate cleanser in between more intense books. That's what this book is and I actually really loved it. It's a pretty slow burn. There was maybe one orgasm in this first book but I'm sure it'll pick up steam as it progresses. There will probably be a mm aspect explored later on, as well, in case that's not your cuppa. It's definitely mine! I recommend this one for sure. And the narrators? *chefs kiss* Perfect. Loved them both. Southern or Western accents can sound silly sometimes when certain people try to imitate one but that really wasn't the case here.

Wonderfully brutal!

Where to start with Wasteland...hmm. This first book of the Their Champion series was amazing! It's my second book by K.a Knight (the first being Rage) and I'm so glad I discovered this fantastic author. There was the perfect amount of action, tenderness, and edge of your seat suspense. And the sexy times were 🔥🔥🔥! I was not expecting that ending and I'll be immediately buying the next one to see how things progress. I normally don't read post-apocalyptic books but this one drew me in. I wasn't sure I even liked Worth at first, but by the end I wanted to BE Worth. The men are absolutely drool worthy. And the icing on this hot and intriguing cake is Hollie Jackson's narrating. I wasn't crazy about Worth's accent at first but after a few chapters, it seemed perfectly natural and fitting for who Worth is. There's a reason she's one of my all time favorite narrators! I highly recommend this one, and I'm so hoping the last book of the series will become available soon. I'm sure I'll be dying at the end of book two, as well!
Tw - multiple mentions of rape, references to torture, and child deaths (not witnessed, just talked about, but could be disturbing for some readers...it's a dark and brutal world K.a.Knight has shown us)
