Historia
From the “mean” streets of Baltimore to Stanford Ph.D. to Black Woman Millionaire. Dr. Venus Opal Reese has some shit to say. Starting with an audio performance of The Raw Truth: A Pimp Daughter’s Diary, followed by a series of topics that cover real-life & money matters, this show is all about giving yourself permission. Permission to be wounded AND wealthy. Permission to flaunt your freak flag unafraid. Permission to be a bunch of contradictions that somehow, someway, make a perfect whole. She speaks the truth, it’s nice to be yourself without the projecting what the world expects, I think it’s beautiful to find yourself and breathe.

Historia
"While the history books are filled with tales of obsessive visionary geniuses who remade the world in their images with sheer, almost irrational force, I've found that history is also made by individuals who fought their egos at every turn, who eschewed the spotlight, and who put their higher goals above their desire for recognition." What a refreshing honesty
Revisado: 09-03-20
In a world where information speeds past us at a million miles a hour, making uneconomical decisions based on what that person who I don’t care about thinks of me, it’s nice to stop and see that our ego can be our own worst enemy, this is a wonderful book on humility and gratitude, and it may make you think more wisely about why you do what you do, to make a better choice in your own character, also I enjoy the hint of Robert Greene style history to current topic narratives. I definitely would recommend this even if your not a ego maniac, it’s a wonderful listen.
