Deep within Syndicate World space, the Alliance fleet continues its dangerous journey home under the command of Captain John “Black Jack” Geary—revived after a century spent in suspended animation. monotonous story lines
Revisado: 05-06-24
the main personality story lines that keep repeating between battles are killing me. the author keeps writing the same arguments between Black Jack and co president. it's so boring, and wild to be repeating it literally after every battle. overall, the struggle to get back home and the alien intent continues. basically the same as the previous books advancing at a glacier pace

Historia
The galaxy is doomed. Monkeys may be clever and too stubborn to give up, but Skippy The Idiot Who Got Played knows the harsh truth: this is a fight he can’t win. The odds are not only stacked against him, he was designed not to win this fight. Maybe he can salvage some faint memory of the civilizations that inhabit the galaxy, but those beings are doomed. Doomed. Including the Merry Band of Pirates.

This is the end?
Revisado: 01-31-23
I am so confused. I can't believe the end to this epic series was wrapped up so easily, and almost non-chalantly - I had to go to RC Brays facebook page to discover if that was the finale book. Now I am here finding I am not alone in feeling jyp'd on a proper ending for this universe(?) I am sure they will be more, let's hope....i mean what is going to happen with the kitties, spiders and earth?

Mildly interesting story, However, I am having a hard time with the dialogue, it's pedestrian and predictable. I can't even finish this one. there are better books like Expeditionary Force, The Synchronicity War, Fear the Sky

Historia
After the latest mission of the starship Flying Dutchman, Earth is safe not just for a year, but for hundreds of years. The ship’s weary crew wonders what they will do with their lives in peacetime, but the enemy has other plans, and there is danger on the Homefront. Starring Zachary Quinto, R.C. Bray, Kate Mulgrew, Robert Picardo, and everyone's favorite AI, Skippy the Magnificent, alongside a full cast. Includes plenty of pew-pew-pew, original sound composition, and maybe some singing by R.C. Bray.

poor production and acting
Revisado: 09-27-19
the production quality is pretty low. and with the exception of RC Bray, the other actors sound like they are reading the script. I could further elaborate on this but I'd rather not. this story is not an optional listen to continue with the series. you'll have to listen to it. overall the story was good. if it was read instead of acted in an audio drama, it would likely be a short story.

Historia
The Galahad, a faster-than-light spacecraft, carries 50 scientists and engineers on a mission to prepare Kepler 452b, Earth's nearest habitable neighbor at 1400 light years away. With Earth no longer habitable and the Mars colony slowly failing, they are humanity's best hope. After 10 years in a failed cryogenic bed - body asleep, mind awake - William Chanokh's torture comes to an end as the fog clears, the hatch opens, and his friend and fellow hacker, Tom, greets him...by stabbing a screwdriver into his heart. This is the first time William dies.

Revisado: 08-27-19
I'm sorry to say that this story was fairly meaningless, I had predicted the outcome of the story pretty early in the story and in the end it was not very satisfying. half way through I was yearning for it to end and only near the end it became interesting then petered out. Bray is excellent as usual.

Historia
More than two centuries after World War III poisoned the planet, the final bastion of humanity lives on massive airships circling the globe in search of a habitable area to call home. Aging and outdated, most of the ships plummeted back to Earth long ago. The only thing keeping the two surviving lifeboats in the sky are Hell Divers - men and women who risk their lives by skydiving to the surface to scavenge for parts the ships desperately need.

disappointing story
Revisado: 05-18-18
first off, RC Bray is superb as usual. but my biggest problem with this story is that there are 500+ human survivors living in an airship for 250 years and somehow many of them don't know each other. I'm pretty sure if you lived in a small airship all your life you would not only know all of them, but they would probably be your family mostly cousins. also, somehow in 250 years there are monsters that quickly evolved. many story points and obstacles conveniently solved, unexplained, or not fleshed out. this wasn't that great. feels like a bad movie.

Historia
United Nations Special Operations Command sent an elite expeditionary force of soldiers and pilots out on a simple recon mission, and somehow along the way they sparked an alien civil war. Now the not-at-all-merry band of pirates is in desperate trouble, again. Their stolen alien starship is falling apart, thousands of light years from home. The ancient alien AI they nicknamed Skippy is apparently dead, and even if they can by some miracle revive him, he might never be the same.

Revisado: 02-27-18
Fun story that was totally unpredictable. lots of laugh out loud lines of dialogue between Skippy and Joe. RC Bray has a hard time with British accents but nailed the accent for bad kitties! 5 star story but so many obvious questions about the roach motel are left un-asked and unanswered. Monkeys kick-ass! Will be sad when this ride ends.

Great Story, but anti-climactic
Revisado: 04-18-17
I have been loving this entire series. I guess this is the final book and was a bit anti-climactic. The final battle against the Xaros was just seemingly small and easy. Malahl's pivitol role was really just a kind of throw away. He pushed a button and 'poof' problem solved. He re-wrote some code - 'poof'- disaster averted. Xaros masters ended up being super weak. Overall an anti-climatic finish. But time was spent wrapping up the characters, leaving room for additional stories to be written. Fantastic series overall and I have dedicated over a year of listening. Luke Daniels is a master narrator. A bit slow sometimes. He sounds great at 1.1x speed however :)

Historia
Colonel Joe Bishop made a promise and he's going to keep it; taking the captured alien starship Flying Dutchman back out. He doesn't agree when the UN decides to send almost 70 elite Special Operations troops, hotshot pilots, and scientists with him; the mission is a fool's errand he doesn't expect to ever return from. At least, this time, the Earth is safe, right? Not so much.

Good book
Revisado: 04-10-17
I really enjoyed this story. However, Book 2 is not very action packed like book 1 was. Most of the action is short lived or explained as have been already occurred. The foreshadowing gives away the outcome before you've heard what the details of a battle are and that's not exciting. Action sequences would be more exciting if told as it unfolds. Save the story telling device for exposition. Some predictable parts, but overall I see an ominous mystery unfolding making this book feel more like the "2nd Act" of a trilogy. After an entire book the secondary characters don't feel much apart of the story, no major relationships have emerged to the surface but...Skippy is still Magnificent. RC Bray is too, despite his attempt at a proper English accent, haha. Weird having Darth Vader appear too (just kidding)
