After all, the previous two could at best be described as disastrous, since a couple of their guests were bumped off during their stay on each occasion. But with family members travelling down for the funeral of an elderly relative, the Earl really had no choice but to offer them accommodation.

Not a terrible read.

I can't put my finger on the reason this book left me unsatisfied. The narrator was adequate: The story mildly amusing. I guess I just couldn't identify with the characters. I wanted to love this book but toward the end, I just wanted it to be over.

Great mystery set in 1953-4 Britain. Very believable characters, fun setting at a fascinating time in England's history. Murder mystery in the style of Christie. Crisp, well written dialogue and the narrator does a terrific job.

A haunted castle, a dead Earl, murder suspects galore, what more do you need? How about a shadowy protagonist who works as a Statistics expert--or is his real job a bit more cloak and daggersish? Great story, believable characters and a particularly English twist at the end. Agatha Christie would approve.

Once again, Grisham proves that he is not only one of the best writers on the planet, but one of the most prolific. Frankly, you don't need my or any other reviewer's comments. If the title says Grisham, you buy it. Period.

If you haven't discovered Rhys Bowen's delightful "Royal Spyness" series, what are you waiting for? You don't have to start at the first installment (Her Royal Spyness) although I would recommend it. That Katherine Kellgren narrated EVERY voice that you hear on this recording is astonishing. So, stop reading this comment and start reading "Crowned and Dangerous"--Rhys' best yet.
