Ruined the trilogy for me

I loved the original trilogy when I picked it up back during my school days and recently reread it and then found out about this new book and got excited…until I got about halfway through it. It’s like kylar is a whole new person and all the feats he’s performed never happened. From the wolf telling him he could just cover himself in the black and devour magic whole to him facing down the whole chantry, he’s now a weakling. The book falls down the annoying fantasy trend of there always having to be a bigger and stronger enemy. I’m not sure if Brent Weeks even knows what kind of world he wants for the NA but I’d stay away if you enjoyed the originals. This is just Brent ruining a great series because he’s out of other ideas.

ChatGPT at its worst

The whole story was monotone and very rushed. Couldn’t tell what kind of story it was supposed to be and I don’t think chatgpt knew either. Even the narrator sounds monotone like it’s chat reading it’s own story. I tried very hard to at least make it thru before leaving the review but could only make it about 3 hours.
