Be skeptical
Revisado: 02-04-20
I do largely agree with many of the comments in this book. However, the author stated that there was never any empirical evidence that people repress traumatic memory. This is false. There are two books that will clearly demonstrate that there is empirical evidence. The first one is Trauma and Recovery by Judith L. Herman and the second one is The Body Keeps the Score by Bessel van der Kolk M D. Both books are full of compelling evidence that people do repress traumatic memory. Unfortunately, the assertion that there are no repressed memories only contributes to further traumatize those who are affected by this issue.

annoying narration

This book is packed with numerous suggestions for working with kids with autism. However, the narrator's voice is sappy sweet with numerous changes in inflection. it sounds like she was reading a book to grade-schoolers encouraging them to brush their teeth. Although I liked the suggestions, I was not able to finish the book due to the narration.

The author gives much deserved praise to Dr. Gradin., but does not provide enough substance.
