This, for me, was more enjoyable than the previous book, and an interesting insight into the post 1st world war pulp fiction. The stories are adventurous in nature, the Master Crooks feel like the forerunners of the likes of Batman's collection of villains. Good pulpy fun.

These collected tales are an interesting listen. Of their time, it's fascinating to hear how fiction writers depicted the build up to, and the conflict of, the first world war during the time. The stories are a little pulpy which adds to their charm.

A powerful and relevant Judge Dredd story

This is a solid adaptation of one of Judge Dress's most powerful and relevant story arcs.
it takes a while to get used to Dredd's performance, which is more Clint Eastwood than the deep growling voice we are used to, but it allows for more subtlety and humanity in his portrayal which works well.
The production values are really strong, and there is a nice sense of tension when needed.
I'm giving it 4 stars rather than 5 as I think, like the other adaptations in this series, this is too short , and should have included more. Perhaps adding America's sequel. Alternatively it could be priced in a way similar to a big finish production. Although the comics script translates well to audio, that lack of visuals needs more than sound to flesh out the story that's being told. It does feel rushed in audio form and could have been adapted a little more.
Overall a well made production of the great story that made me want to reread the comic.

Essential insights into sleep and the impacts and causes of a lack of sleep. This book covers an exhaustive view of impacts, mental & physical. A condensed version should make for essential learning in schools, and a must for parents and anyone who doesn't prioritise sleep.

Helen O'Hara digs deep into the lesser explored history of Hollywood, from it's inception to the current day, revealing rare stories from a fresh perspective. Not limited to women in film, both behind and in front of the camera, this book explores all under represented people, and how things may be changing.
As a middle-aged white cis male listener, at no point did the book feel that it was preaching, it maintained a great pace of insights and stories, keeping commentary balanced with the occasional flourish of humour
I recommend this to anyone who is interested in film, it's influence on culture or representation.

This is a decent adaptation of the 2000ad classic. The performances are strong and sound and music complimentary. Chapter three works very well for the format. The down side is that this is a little too faithfull to the comic, a little extra narration in chapters one and two would have helped clarify what was going on in a couple of places.
Given the short run time, I'd have liked more from this to justify the price, such as behind the scenes interviews. That said, this is a 2000AD classic with Alan Moore bringing his creative brilliance, well worth a listen.

My favourite of the Pathfinder tales books

This is a great take of a displaced family, and the town they wish to found. the characters and strong and well written. the story is creative and well crafted. I love that this book isn't about well seasoned heroes on a quest, but about flawed people each on their own journey within themselves and survival within the Pathfinder wilderness.

Tavia Gilbert does a superb job of reading the narrative and playing the characters. it's easy to know who's speaking and the added layer of emotional depth she gives the characters sits perfectly with the story.

Three solid Judge Dredd stories well read

Three 2000ad writers do a great job of putting their own spins on the early days of Judge Dredd. Each of the three stories differ in structure, are well paced and enjoyable, keepimg my interest throughout. A nice showcase for the different writer styles, and in line with the anthology style storytelling of the comics.

The three stories were originally written as stand alone, however it would have been a nice touch if there was minor interlinking, though this is a minor quibble.

Jordan Harold, the reader, does a great job of the performance, the characters are played well, enhancing the writers dialogue. Special kudos for having Rico and Joe so similar and yet so easily distinguishably different.

A strong recommendation for any Judge Dredd fans, or anyone looking for a fun crime romp.

I hope there will be more in this series.

I've always wanted to learn about Norse mythology, and Neil Gaiman does a great job in taking the myths and making them accessible to a modern audience. Neil's reading is suitable clear and well read as always, he's not a performer, more a story teller, and is suitable for this book.
