Historia
I'm his entertainment. His toy. Payment on a debt. I tell myself I hate him, but every time he walks into the room, my body betrays me. How can I want him and fear him in the same moment? They told me he'd mess with my head. Make it go to war with my body. But I didn't realize it would be complete anarchy. I should've known better. When Mount's involved, there are no rules. I will not surrender. I will not show weakness. I'll stand my ground and make it out of this bargain with my heart and soul intact. But he has other plans....

I’m sick of spending credits on 5 hour titles with cliffhangers. This is a classic March technique and it’s wearing very thin.

Historia
New Orleans belongs to me. You don't know my name, but I control everything you see - and all the things you don't. My reach knows no bounds, and my demands are always met. I didn't need to loan money to a failing family distillery, but it amuses me to have them in my debt. To have her in my debt. She doesn't know she caught my attention. She should've been more careful. I'm going to own her. Consume her. Maybe even keep her. It's time to collect what I'm owed.

Terrible Narration. Boring story.
Revisado: 10-19-17
I really liked Meghan March's "beneath" series and I was looking forward to new characters and new adventures. Unfortunately I am astoundingly disappointed. I couldn't care less about the hero. He's not an alpha with integrity and a soft heart, he's an asshat high on his own power. The heroine is completely annoying. And the narration! How I miss Andi Arndt and Sebastian York. Perhaps they could have made me like these characters. This book is told primarily from the heroine's point of view. I like a little more balance. Although maybe it's a blessing with this jerk. The last place I want to be is in his head. As is typical of March's books this one is only the first part in a larger story arch, making you purchase three books that could easily be contained between two covers. I don't recommend spending your credit on this title. Listen to the sample narration first and determine if you can stand it.

Historia
Frieda Klein is a solitary, incisive psychotherapist who spends her sleepless nights walking along the ancient rivers that have been forced underground in modern London. She believes that the world is a messy, uncontrollable place. The abduction of five-year-old Matthew Farraday provokes a national outcry and a desperate police hunt. And when his face is splashed over the newspapers, Frieda cannot ignore the coincidence: one of her patients has been having dreams in which he has a hunger for just such a child.

Good characters shadowed by author's fat phobia
Revisado: 06-19-14
If you disagree that being fat and middle-aged is the worst thing that can happen to a person, this may not be the book for you. Suspicious characters are often described as being overweight with inexpertly applied makeup as if this gives us some insight into their morality. I really liked the character of Frieda Klein but was frustrated by the prejudice of the narration. I was able to guess the ending so somewhat predictable.

Painful.
Revisado: 06-18-14
Twilight references. Social media overload. Use of the word "totes." Where do I begin? Why is Henry Tilney Scottish and a lawyer? Why bizarrely alter the reason Catherine Morland is dismissed from Northanger Abbey? Why did I listen to this all the way through? Save yourself a credit and get this one from the library.
