there was very little chemistry in the male and female characters. the female character was annoying and continue to make stupid comments and dumb mistakes. I dislike that there is a second book to this because the hours I spent struggling to get through this book will not happen again for the next book I dislike that the male character constantly commented that he doesn't know what's happening but he should know what's happening because he has people watching her all the time. it was a roller coaster that had no good ending.

Disappointed I wasted a credit on this book.
The story had great possibilities, but fell short. I found myself fast forwarding more than listening. Over and over the same complication the same dialog. Too much involvement with cats and making them the lead story line. Constant self doubt. The book should have been a 6hr long book with better build up and the needed complication but then the realization.

I drive a lot and I loved listening to her first two books. They are very wordy and a lot of inter monologue to the point of being boring but the couple communication was usually worth it so I fast forwarded a lot.
This book is not worth it. There is not a good feeling of love in this book. Val is constantly giving in to the horrible behavior. She is so lonely she has no morals to live by. Drugged and tattoo abused she lets it go in a paragraph and moves on, which is infuriating.
Val needs more of a backbone, more of a self worth. She's been successful and living on her own for years but she can't seem to fight for her self worth? I hate female leads that act like this. it makes females with an emotional/abusive history look like it's ok to fall victim to everything. It's infuriating.

This book was very difficult to finish even as an audio. It was hard to find any chemistry between the two characters. It was even harder to like the female character and the male character. The author needs to do some work on medical terminology and how a person cant be on life support and then start to talk. having a female lead that constantly eats where it plays no role in the book and stays a size 6 without exercise is completely unbelievable.

Not only is this book riveting but the audio narration is undeniably the best I've ever heard. I laughed out loud during this book I cringed during this book and I had to look around to make sure nobody heard some of the scenes in this book. Thank you
