Historia
In the seventh book in the brilliant New York Times best-selling mystery series, canine narrator Chet and P.I. Bernie journey to Washington, DC, and the dog-eat-dog world of our nation’s capital. Stephen King has called Chet "a canine Sam Spade full of joie de vivre". Robert B. Parker dubbed Spencer Quinn’s writing "major-league prose". Now the beloved team returns in another suspenseful novel that finds Chet sniffing around the capital city and using his street smarts to uncover a devilish plot.

Historia
In 1971, Go Ask Alice reinvented the young adult genre with a blistering portrayal of sex, psychosis, and teenage self-destruction. The supposed diary of a middle-class addict, Go Ask Alice terrified adults and cemented LSD's fearsome reputation, fueling support for the War on Drugs. Five million copies later, Go Ask Alice remains a divisive bestseller, outraging censors and earning new fans, all of them drawn by the book's mythic premise: A Real Diary, by Anonymous.

All these years
Revisado: 03-17-25
I read Go Ask Alice in 1975, was actually expelled out of 5th grade for having the book then telling the superintendent that he could not censor my reading, that was my mother’s job. I never ever touched drugs because of this book. Now, 60, and listening to the actual account that verified it was, in fact, a novel, as I had heard years after I had reached adulthood. Adding in the satan backstory that clarified where that ridiculous ideology started, this audiobook held my attention almost all in one day. Thank you, author, for taking the time to explain all the backstories of the years when I was aware but not a researcher of the surrounding details.

The first rule of being a ghost whisperer: Don't tell anyone. Seriously. Don't. Sure, it might sound harmless. A fun party trick, even. I assure you, it's not. How do I know? Well, let's just say that I've had a lot of experience with this sort of thing, and nine times out of 10, it turns into an all-consuming disaster.

I’m kind of squeamish, but the details in this book did not run me off, scare me, or give me nightmares. I really like the author’s outlook on death and I hope more people adapt her thoughts on how we handle death and our send off back to dust.
