Not a bad story.
Revisado: 11-01-23
A bit rushed, and may seem a bit immature. But overall, it's not bad. The end.

Great primer for getting tough conversations started
Revisado: 10-02-23
Great primer for getting tough conversations started. They have a lot of practical examples that mostly leads with mindfulness of your own emotions and recognition that the conversation has gone awry.

important book, a little repetitive
Revisado: 11-22-22
The content of this book is foundational to understanding how the world works. I would say it is right up there with shock doctrine by Naomi Klein, but you get the picture very early in the book and he tends to give a lot of examples of the same things. still worth the read, but not the most riveting at times at times

Historia
Aggression touches all of our lives. Whether it is a customer or angry coworker, an upset family member, a fellow student at school or college, or a stranger we bump into on the street, all of us, at times, must deal with aggressive people. Ellis Amdur has become well-known for his series of profession-specific books on dealing with aggressive and emotionally disturbed individuals. Words of Power is different. It is written for ordinary people who may, on occasion, have to deal with an angry, even enraged person.

Practical but nothing groundbreaking
Revisado: 04-07-22
Practical but nothing groundbreaking. I wanted to love the book, but don't feel that I took much away that will really help keep me safer.
I did like his frameworks for understanding the levels of anger, but this is more of a primer that should send you to deeper levels of study.

It doesn't matter that the girls often die from the mental strain. When 18-year-old Zetian offers herself up as a concubine-pilot, it's to assassinate the ace male pilot responsible for her sister's death. But she gets her vengeance in a way nobody expected—she kills him through the psychic link between pilots and emerges from the cockpit unscathed.

Great potential, but poor execution
Revisado: 04-06-22
The concepts in this book are fascinating and the world has so much potential. The narrator speaking the Chinese really brings the story to life. However the author has such an overt feminist agenda that it distracts from the story and feels more like a diatribe. The pacing of the story is all wrong and the protagonist doesn't experience any real arc.
Overall, I wanted this story to let me explore the very unique world and see a real journey, but the execution was subpar.
I hope the author keeps writing and I'd gladly read some more nuanced work from her.

The plot actually starts in this second installmen
Revisado: 11-03-21
the plot actually starts in this second installment of the book series. the first book was mainly a setup for everything and honestly was not very interesting, but in this book things really start to make sense and the twists and turns are a delight.
