Utterly boring
Revisado: 07-19-23
Couldn't manage to finish this one. The sense of humor was missing on this show, for which I had high expectations based on the trailer.

Historia
Michael Pollan, known for his best-selling nonfiction audio, including The Omnivores Dilemma and How to Change Your Mind, conceived and wrote Caffeine: How Caffeine Created the Modern World as an Audible Original. In this controversial and exciting listen, Pollan explores caffeine’s power as the most-used drug in the world - and the only one we give to children (in soda pop) as a treat.

A short trip through the story of our daily drug
Revisado: 07-14-20
This was one of the most interesting Audible Originals that I've heard in a long time. I truly regret having it sitting in my library for so long.
As a coffee enthusiast myself, I've found this book more than interesting and it helped me think about the consequences of my everyday cup (okay, two cups, sorry) of coffee on my expected lifespan, but also reassured me the positive effects that it has on my brain function and my daily performance at work.

Historia
"Pa-dum-pum-pa-dum-pum - PUM!" Super Mario Bros. for the NES contains some of the most recognizable tunes in popular culture, and yet it’s safe to say that only a handful of people have thought beyond the music’s entertaining surface. After all, what could possibly be art-worthy about an early Mario score? Or any early game sound for that matter? In search of answers to these questions, Andrew Schartmann takes us on a journey from the primitive "pongs" of arcade machines to the complex musical fabrics woven by composers of the NES era.

Great book & narration, missed opportunity on SFX
Revisado: 01-04-20
An awesome book with tons of info about the classic NES music and how it has defined the videogame music genre. However, it was a missed opportunity not adding the sound effects or fragments of songs as they were referred on the book; maybe it was due to copyright, but it seems like falling short on that way.

Good acting, horrible narrator
Revisado: 11-14-19
The voice acting for the dialogues is quite good, but the narrator screams every word like she's hating what she says all the time. Additionally, the pacing is way too fast compared to the atmosphere of the story.
