Historia
Europe’s last line of defense against neofascism—a history professor? Professor William Dresden has found solitude in the south of France to grapple with his troubled past—a neglected upbringing, failed romances, the recent demolition of his life’s work in academia, and even witnessing genocide, among other secrets. But he soon learns that he has much larger problems when an adrift MI6 officer, Adeline Parker, calls and insists on a meeting, revealing shocking information about his family.

Historia
Everyone, it seems, missed the most obvious signs: A childhood filled with poverty, neglect, drugs, pornography, physical, mental, and sexual abuse will invariably lead to an adulthood full of greed, lust and violence. No one, however, could have predicted the terror that Reginald and Jonathan Carr, two brothers in Kansas, would inflict on seven unsuspecting men and women over nine days in December 2000.

Although this was a true story, I believe that the writer and narrator enjoyed the horrific details. There was no need to describe the disgusting sexual ongoings. The reader would have understood. Also, does the narrator think he's the narrator from The Twilight Zone? 😂

The story kept my attention. Great plot, characters. Fell flat at the end for me. Excellent narration!

Historia
Elsa is seven years old and different. Her grandmother is 77 years old and crazy, standing-on-the-balcony-firing-paintball-guns-at-men-who-want-to-talk-about-Jesus crazy. She is also Elsa's best and only friend. At night Elsa takes refuge in her grandmother's stories, in the Land of Almost-Awake and the Kingdom of Miamas, where everybody is different and nobody needs to be normal.

Enjoyed the story
Revisado: 04-05-21
Book is well written and easy to follow. Loved the characters and storyline. I appreciate the God reference and His forgiveness.
The reader should not have attempted any of the United States language. It was hoRRRRRRendous! The accents were not accurate at all. Made me laugh though🤣
