Modern version of Dickens, David Copperfield, is a good read if you have the blocks of time to spend with it or you are a fast reader, Not recommended for those of us who read a few pages at clip as it gets “long in the tooth” quickly.

Disappointed! Events occur, and then Coben first has to explain them so they fit into the story. Case in point: Dave had a fight with the prison’s bully and wins . That is when you are first told that Dave is a martial arts champion. And then you go back to the story . Later on Dave is kidnaped, out from out of nowhere. And then it is explained in detail.
Actually.the story read as if it was a rough draft waiting for its final review.

Sandford is back! After the mediocre The Investigator; which wasn’t about an investigation or an investigator but about a militia, Lucas and Virgil return in a good story. It is no match for his Winter Prey or Silent Prey but it’s still a good enjoyable read. Recommended!

The story has a much thicker plot than the previous Coben novels that I have read and enjoyed. It stays within the boundaries of “believable fiction” and held its consistency and my interest from beginning to end. A thoroughly enjoyable read, I highly recommend this book.

This was the first book authored by Penny that I have read. The plot is much thicker than other mysteries that I am used to reading, so it was a refreshing change. The cross action between characters kept the story alive.
I enjoy reading fiction novels that could be “non - fiction” Many good stories are ruined when the author takes the story into “that’s ridiculous “ territory as this did in describing the damage caused in this story. In other word: this couldn’t happen in the real world.
Other than that one piece, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and look forward to reading other Penny authored books

I am sorry that the author lost his son, but that is not what the story was presented as. A chapter and a half ie enough.

Liked story, as the base is different. We know who the killer is. We know who was killed and we know why an arrest had not occurred. The time element makes the fiction element plausible.
Most important to me was the ending fit the story; unlike some of the mysteries I have read recently where a good story is ruined by an ending that comes out of nowhere.

I tried several times to “get into the story” but failed. As it’s been a “Best Seller “ for so long,I tried to find the “glue” that attaches the reader to the story and makes them want to read it. As the pages passed, that didn’t occur.
I that also thought the narration was amateurish.

After enjoying reading Kristin Hannah’s The Great Alone, I looked forward to reading another one of her novels so when I saw The Four Winds; I bought it. Warning! It is a depressing story. As I get into the story,I was absorbed. It is so well written, choice of words, so exact that you can taste, feel and picture the happenings. The icing on the cake is that the ending fits the story; unlike so many other novels I have read recently. I highly recommend this book.

Good story, easy read, as it flows through believable fiction. The different pieces come together nicely by the end ; culminating with a good feeling of enjoyable time well spent. It is recommended for casual read
