Historia
For the first time in thirty years, more than a dozen former ATF agents who participated in the initial February 28, 1993, raid speak on the record about the poor decisions of their commanders that led to this deadly confrontation. Revelations in this book include why the FBI chose to end the siege with the use of CS gas; how both ATF and FBI officials tried and failed to cover up their agencies’ mistakes; where David Koresh plagiarized his infamous prophecies; and direct links between the Branch Davidian tragedy and the modern militia movement in America.

Very sad but incredible listen
Revisado: 12-07-24
ai have always been intrigued about this acct since my first hearing about it. I'm saddened of the out come of lives lost to say the least but a very important lesson to keep in mind about our government.

Historia
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the show's debut, Sepinwall and Seitz have reunited to produce The Sopranos Sessions, a collection of recaps, conversations, and critical essays covering every episode. Featuring a series of new long-form interviews with series creator David Chase, as well as selections from the authors' archival writing on the series, The Sopranos Sessions explores the show's artistry, themes, and legacy, examining its portrayal of Italian Americans, its graphic depictions of violence, and its deep connections to cinematic and television classics.

Lack of enthusiasm in narration
Revisado: 01-28-24
I love the show, watched well over 5 times in its entirety but The narration felt rushed and didn't fit the theme in my opinion. I got bored fast and found myself thinking of other things while audiobook was playing! Not worth the listen in my opinion... Just watch the show again..lol

Why we think it’s a great listen: A masterpiece like none other, Brooks’ powerful performance of Haley’s words has been known to leave listeners in tears. It begins with a birth in an African village in 1750, and ends two centuries later at a funeral in Arkansas. And in that time span, an unforgettable cast of men, women, and children come to life, many of them based on the people from Alex Haley's own family tree.

The voice just wouldnt allow me to get into it.
Revisado: 03-18-19
I tried listening to it but the narrator's voice just didnt allow me to get into it. I cant really explain it, other than his voice dragged and was so deep it felt like slow motion to me..lol
I would just lose interest and wander off during.
I enjoyed the movie, just not the narration.

Historia
After bursting onto the scene in 2002, Rudy Kurniawan quickly became the leading purveyor of rare wines to the American elite. But in April 2008, his lots of Domaine Ponsot Clos Saint-Denis red burgundy - dating as far back as 1945 - were abruptly pulled from auction. The problem? The winemaker was certain that this particular burgundy was first produced only in 1982.

Wow... I couldn't stop listening!
Revisado: 11-07-18
Really enjoyed it, the story kept my ears glued to the details. The one thing that threw me was how it jumped back and forth on Rudy's age, and how some specifics were repeated at later points in the book having me think that u somehow jumped back to the previous chapter where it was mentioned earlier.
The narrator was great, his pronunciation of the French, Italian wines were fluent. I'm going to watch the Doc Sour grapes and see I guess a visual of some of the things heard in this book. I dont know if theres a movie about this counterfeiter, but I sure would love to see a movie based off of how this book was written. Looking forward to listen to it again in the future. 5* for sure.

Historia
From 1999 to 2009, U.S. Navy SEAL Chris Kyle recorded the most career sniper kills in United States military history. The Pentagon has officially confirmed more than 150 of Kyles kills (the previous American record was 109), but it has declined to verify the astonishing total number for this book. Iraqi insurgents feared Kyle so much they named him al-Shaitan ("the devil") and placed a bounty on his head.

Eehh...
Revisado: 10-09-18
I feel that the audio narrator just didnt give life to the audio reading, missing enthusiasm.... just didnt do it for me.
I guess I was looking for more details on fire fights and missions and I just didnt get it.
I understand it's a biography but it revolved about a Navy seals life and the book just didnt hype me up or give me the want to get back into the story for a session of listening.
I absolutely loved the movie, and didnt expect the book to be like it though it did mention a few parts as it happened in the film.
I will say that I've listened to other books that totally had me bingeing and this just didnt. I really wanted to love it after reading all the reviews.
