This narrator goes into a whisper so often that I don't even know what to set the volume level to! The half that I heard sounded like it was a great story. Very frustrating.

Historia
Molly’s policeman husband, Daniel, is late returning home. He comes with a tale to tell: There was a murder on Ellis Island that day, and the main suspect is the spitting image of Molly. The circumstances are eerily similar to when Molly herself arrived on Ellis Island, and she can’t help but feel a sense of fate. Molly was meant to be there that day so that she can clear this woman’s name.

Historia
The Frosts are a typical American family. Barb and John, married almost 50 years, are testy and bored with each other...who could blame them after all this time? At least they have their daughters - Barb's favorite, the perfect, brilliant Juliet; and John's darling, the free-spirited Sadie. The girls themselves couldn't be more different, but at least they got along, more or less. It was fine. It was enough. Until the day John had a stroke, and their house of cards came tumbling down. Now Sadie has to put her career as a teacher and struggling artist in New York on hold....

The reading is key to an Audible book. I'm surprised this got released with the faulty mic/narration issues. Great story, though.

Historia
'This was where her dreams drifted to if she didn't blot her nights out with drink; this was where her thoughts settled if she didn't fill her days with chat. She remembered this tiny, remote foreign village on a molecular level and the sight of it soaked into her like water into sand, because this was where her old life had ended and her new one had begun.'

My Reader's Choice of the Year Award
Revisado: 01-04-18
What did you love best about Christmas at Claridge's?
I loved how real these characters were. I loved the family - who first appeared heavily dysfunctional but were really devoted to the core. It shows the hard choices we each make in the name of love.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Clem because of her resolve and her heart.
What does Imogen Church bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The nuances of each character's conflicts
If you could rename Christmas at Claridge's, what would you call it?
Not sure. I've given it a lot of thought but Christmas at Claridge's was not accurate. Christmas was such a tiny part.
Any additional comments?
It's not just a little Christmas story. I think it's a disservice to lump it in with Christmas stories. I really became involved and emotional and I will miss these people. ***** Their business revolves around leather hides. It's not talked about in detail or even spoken often but if that bothers you as a vegan or otherwise, you just might get uncomfortable. Still, don't throw away this wonderful story for that reason, IMHO.

Rivals the Emma Harte series by Barbara T Bradford
Revisado: 02-06-17
Would you consider the audio edition of Wildflower Hill to be better than the print version?
It was and naturally MUST be with Caroline Lee lending her narration.
What did you like best about this story?
The strength, fortitude and heart of Beattie as well as Emma's self-reflection.
Which scene was your favorite?
The winning poker game.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
There are several but the concert ballet when Nina's dad showed up got me.
Any additional comments?
Set amid the beauty of Tasmania, Scotland, and London, these real and multi-dimensional characters will learn lessons of life & love that will transform them - as well as the listener. This novel would make a wonderful film.
(And, even though - as with all great novels - you alway want more of the characters you've come to love, I feel it wrapped up in the end, perfectly.)

My Favorite So Far
Revisado: 11-05-16
Would you listen to In Your Dreams again? Why?
Yes. Because it's full of good character in it's characters and it ran the full spectrum of emotions.
Which character – as performed by Amy Rubinate – was your favorite?
Can't decide. She is spot on with the guys and the gals.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I cried and laughed out loud.

Revisado: 08-29-16
What made the experience of listening to Sunshine Beach the most enjoyable?
The characters, the great narrator, the storyline
What does Amy Rubinate bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The ability to capture individual personalities and make them believable
Any additional comments?
Some have commented that this Book4 of the series didn't quite make the mark. I thorough;y enjoyed it as much as the others and loved the mystery of the sisters. It finished up a tad too quickly for my liking but if there is a Book 5 to come then I understand.
