Historia
The anchor of The O'Reilly Factor recounts one of the most dramatic stories in American history - how one gunshot changed the country forever. In the spring of 1865, the bloody saga of America's Civil War finally comes to an end after a series of increasingly harrowing battles. President Abraham Lincoln's generous terms for Robert E. Lee's surrender are devised to fulfill Lincoln's dream of healing a divided nation. But one man and his band of murderous accomplices are not appeased....

The difference between "cavalry" and "calvary"

If you could sum up Killing Lincoln in three words, what would they be?
Great story!
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
The book was great, and O'Reilly's reading voice is excellent, but can somebody please teach him the difference between
Any additional comments?
Don't let me discourage you; it's a great story.

Historia
Two men, each handsome and unusually adept at his chosen work, embodied an element of the great dynamic that characterized America’s rush toward the twentieth century. The architect was Daniel Hudson Burnham, the fair’s brilliant director of works and the builder of many of the country’s most important structures, including the Flatiron Building in New York and Union Station in Washington, D.C. The murderer was Henry H. Holmes, a young doctor who, in a malign parody of the White City, built his “World’s Fair Hotel” just west of the fairgrounds.

Something I knew nothing about...
Revisado: 01-04-09
I ordered this book because my daughter recommended it. I was so glad that I did. Although I have advanced degrees and had studied some American history, I knew nothing about the Chicago World's Fair. Considering the influence this event had on our culture, including such people as Frank Lloyd Wright and Walt Disney, I think it's important to know about it. The White City sounds incredible, and I've enjoyed looking it up on Google. The remainder of the plot, although somewhat gruesome, brought interest to the storyline. I found the book fascinating and highly recommend it.

Historia
Mackenzie Allen Philips' youngest daughter, Missy, has been abducted during a family vacation and evidence that she may have been brutally murdered is found in an abandoned shack deep in the Oregon wilderness. Four years later in the midst of his Great Sadness, Mack receives a suspicious note, apparently from God, inviting him back to that shack for a weekend. Against his better judgment he arrives at the shack on a wintry afternoon and walks back into his darkest nightmare.

Hang in there, it becomes great!
Revisado: 12-04-08
Before I got this book on tape, I had heard that some people thought it was herecy. However, my pastor had recommended it, so I got it. At first I thought it was outrageous and didn't think I liked it. By the time I finished, I thought it was one of the best books I've ever read. For me, it was life-changing. I actually understood how much God loves each one of us in a way that I hadn't before. If you do get it, hang in there. I promise it's worth it. Be sure to listen to the after-word, too.

A new slant
Revisado: 05-08-08
The author aproaches depression from a direction that I've never heard before. It makes a great deal of sense and I bleieve that anyone who actually applies the strategies included in the book will find their depression improving. I've listened to the book several times while driving, and felt the need to sit at a table and follow the instructions exactly. I plan to return to this book over and over again whenever I need it. The narrator was excellent. I highly recommend this book for anyone who struggles with depression or who has someone close to them with the problem.

I was not prepared for how "new age" this book was. I found that it conflicted with some of my beliefs.
