From a former Playboy Playmate, an unflinching look at the objectification and misogyny of the Playboy mansion, a woman’s stolen young adulthood, and her journey to self-acceptance–plus a rare look inside Hugh Hefner’s final days.

Honest, Thoughtful, Important
Revisado: 01-28-24
This book should be read by most people if for nothing else than to help the world understand how impressionable all young people are and how those impressions manifest as adults if not addressed early. This is a personal story about an image so many women and men aspire to, and Crystal is as honest as it comes in her recount. As an adult she acknowledges her part and willingness back then, which shows this book is written by a thoughtful responsible woman.
Some of these reviews are ridiculous because at the age Crystal was, the media, crowds, and adults around her absolutely held power. She doesn’t claim to be a victim, yet “survival” in my opinion is an absolutely appropriate word. We all struggle with one thing or another in our teens and 20’s, but the adults who guide us at that time play a massive role in whether we look back and laugh at the normal craziness it was, or if we look back in disbelief that those adults thought what happened was okay. Heartfelt kudos to Crystal for sharing her story publicly, and hoping she is able to drown out the ignorant critics whose brains are stuck in the 70’s hollywood “glamor” unwilling to see it was all largely built on male egos eclipsed only by that of politicians.

This book works!
Revisado: 02-14-21
Samantha holds nothing back in telling her story, and in providing deep, valuable exercises along the way to give readers a knowing of what is possible for us. I’ve read this once through and will read it several more times because every time I do, I’m uplifted, inspired, and most importantly reminded of what is true about the path I’ve been on vs the path that I truly desire.
This book works! It’s healing. It’s real. More than relatable, it’s a hand-held guide if you realize that you can use it that way. Well done.
