Awesome setting, lacks character depth
Revisado: 10-15-15
I loved the futuristic setting and the descriptions- they offered a glimpse, but didn't take up half the book. I think that the awesome setting and plot would've made for a masterpiece had the characters not lacked so much emotion! I didn't feel connected to them or moved by their struggles and emotions. They seemed quite distant.
I'd love a sequel- with some more character depth.

A book everybody should read
Revisado: 10-12-15
If you could sum up Come as You Are in three words, what would they be?
You Are Normal.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Wasn't really a plot with characters exactly...
Have you listened to any of Emily Nagoski’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No, I haven't. But I enjoyed her narration.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No, it's quite dense and full of information. I listened to it in parts over the course of a couple of months.
Any additional comments?
Loved it! Very valuable information with both complex science and relatable anecdotes.

Nice story, a bit young, bad narration
Revisado: 10-12-15
Would you try another book from Julie Murphy and/or Eileen Stevens?
Possibly would by the same author, probably not from the same narrator.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I didn't feel too strongly about any of the characters, although they were varied and not without some depth.
What didn’t you like about Eileen Stevens’s performance?
Her croaky, sad sounding narration of most of the characters, especially the men.
Do you think Dumplin' needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
No, there are no loose ends or things I wondered about in particular.
Any additional comments?
A book I would've enjoyed a few years ago, but at the age of 20 the main character seemed overdramatic and her problems weren't that interesting to me. I do like the message of the book though, would recommend to younger readers.
