Andrew Yancy—late of the Miami Police and soon-to-be-late of the Monroe County sheriff’s office—has a human arm in his freezer. There’s a logical (Hiaasenian) explanation for that, but not for how and why it parted from its shadowy owner. Yancy thinks the boating-accident/shark-luncheon explanation is full of holes, and if he can prove murder, the sheriff might rescue him from his grisly Health Inspector gig (it’s not called the roach patrol for nothing).

What would have made Bad Monkey better?
We tried to listen to this book on a vacation trip. We've always been big fans of Carl Hiaasen's books but the narration was disappointing and we never finished it. We switched to a different book. It just didn't hold our interest.
Has Bad Monkey turned you off from other books in this genre?
No.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Bad Monkey?
I can't really even remember much and it was only 2 weeks ago.

Possibly reading the book would have been better.

What would have made The Cutting Edge better?
My bad! I forgot to double check and this is an old book. The performance is good. The story line is trite and the main male character is a chauvinistic pig.
Would you ever listen to anything by Linda Howard again?
I would make sure it was a brand new release. Linda Howard's books are 100% better now.
