I don't think I'm really the audience for lusty teenage romances, but I do like the author. I would say, I prefer other narrators, though, as this person shifts his voice volume and whispers too much. If you're listening with EarPods, you're gonna get blasted sometimes.

Unbelievably and weakly narrated

The development of the characters was quite weak I really don't understand why the picture was painted the way it was. The main protagonist was an unbelievable person and when the phrase about working 16 hours a day and seven days a week was used and yet it described her time on her weekends and it wasn't work everything you know the writing will be untrustworthy. In addition to the very poor writing and plot the narration was very pedestrian. I am not sure if it is because the poor narrator had nothing to work with or it was a very poor narrator.

Formulaic Romance

Not really in Tune with today's sensibilities. Shallow and the way men treat women I am surprised this book isn't older. Also the mystery part of the story was weak. Too much time describing hot se and not enough developing a story.

If I have not needed to read this for book club I would not have continued this book. I think it was a ridiculous premise and overwrought and included all of the clichés that we learn to avoid in creative writing courses.

A bit one dimensional

The women, particularly the main characters, are mostly portrayed as power hungry and ready to slip into the worst stereotypes of men. The men are a bit more varied. Narration was horrible if you weren’t a proper Brit. Americans, whether from AZ, Wisconsin or the south all has bad southernish accents and the southerners were made to sound ridiculous.

Not my cup of coffee

I have not read the author and I am not a prude but I don't see a F@&$& need to use the "F" word so much. I get that we need to know Jake is crude. Also this book seems to be for women who need to be cared for and controlled by a strong and overbearing macho guy. Lastly the book is about 24 hours and about 16 were full of graphic sex.

What does Davina Porter bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She does so many voices and it is very good. But sometimes she confuses. Bree's flat American sometimes gets mixed up with another.

Any additional comments?

I have enjoyed this series over the past several years but my goodness things have gotten so long winded. I first started noticing in Fiery Cross but the minute detailed descriptions of bodily smells and every other passing thing have begun to drag things down. She needs an editor!
