Intense

Okay, now I want each Twilight book written from Edward's perspective! This was urgent, intense. His take on family members as well as Bella is very revealing. There's so much more information and added layers of emotion to the Cullen family. Where they seemed like little more than pleasant statues in most of the Twilight books, Midnight Sun lays their hearts open for us.

Jake Abel did a tremendous job, even at the times Edward became a bit drama.

Series as a whole...

I can't possibly separate these books since I have gone back four times now and listened to each one in turn. Just finished #21.

This series is delightful. I've rarely laughed so much or loved characters so well as these. Granted, some of the books are more wordy than others... and some are funnier. But I wouldn't put even one aside. It doesn't hurt that I'm from southeast Texas and am acquainted with some Louisiana folk.

Cassandra Campbell is wonderful and only gets better as the books go on, fleshing out the characters in her own way.

Take a chance; you won't be sorry.

Coming to the end of Written after listening to all the previous books just gutted me. What to do with my life now? Diana has spoiled us with these 40+ hour novels; so much so that I have trouble getting into any other book.
The end, though! I hope the next book picks right up where this one left off, for obvious reasons.

My biggest surprise in this volume was Lord John. He's someone I'd like to meet IRL. I hope his part in this iteration transfers to the screen and is not left out. That would be a pity.

I have no negative thoughts except sometimes Diana makes Claire a bit too verbose, but it's easy to FF a few seconds.

Davina Porter is the absolute best, along with Jim Dale of course. I can't imagine anyone else narrating these books. Wonderful performance!
I will miss them all.

So happy this was my first Audible!

When I first joined, the front page touted this novel as a first listen. So I did and I'm so happy I did!

The narration is excellent, the story wonderful, the actors beyond great!

Some time after completing the Audible book, I watched the movie. It didn't seem very good to me; so much was taken out... and the character's interpersonal relationships were not developed.

If you want the real story, always read/listen to the book.

I'd listen to anything Emma Thompson read.

Thompson is a great actress, but as narrator she exceeds expectations! As for the book in general, I don't know which I enjoyed more; the story or the diary. Both were wonderful.

A 'book' I never wanted to put down. Excellent.
