Historia
The Trump Tapes explodes with the exclusive, inside story of Trump’s performance as president—in his own words as he is questioned, even interrogated by Woodward, on the president’s key responsibilities from managing foreign relations to crisis management of the coronavirus pandemic. This is the job Trump seeks again. How did he do the first time? This is the authentic answer, laying bare his repeated failures, obsessions, and grievances.

Trump Speaking candidly
Revisado: 10-25-24
I own all of the books that Woodward has written on Trump and several that he has written on previous presidents. Woodward makes politics interested as it is not one of my favorite things to spend time on. I have great respect for his process of checking and rechecking facts and telling Trump all along the way that he was recording his every word. I love the way Woodward downloads information to his wife and discusses things with her. And though the 2 of them apparently did not support Trump she protected him to some degree when Woodward was pushing him for information. I hope with all my heart that people read this book and listen to The Truth from Trump which is rare even in these tapes.... Luckily Woodward knew more about the truth going into interviews than Trump had any idea.

Historia
Olivia McAfee knows what it feels like to start over. Her picture-perfect life—living in Boston, married to a brilliant cardiothoracic surgeon, raising their beautiful son, Asher—was upended when her husband revealed a darker side. She never imagined that she would end up back in her sleepy New Hampshire hometown, living in the house she grew up in and taking over her father’s beekeeping business. Lily Campanello is familiar with do-overs, too. When she and her mom relocate to Adams, New Hampshire, for her final year of high school, they both hope it will be a fresh start.

It was so wonderful to discover that Meryl Streep was the reader of this amazing book. This was truly a double treat for me as I so admire her and her voice is perfect for audio books.

a good thriller
Revisado: 02-01-24
This was a good story and kept me interested . I was excited to see that it was read by Scott Brack as I love to listen to his voice. However, He maintained a tone of sadness and Lack of conviction that made me uncomfortable. I feel that he is moving into that realm of voice and it's no longer my first choice for A reader.

complexity of a simple man
Revisado: 10-25-22
first, I feel that most authors shouldn't read their own books. a talented reader brings out the best in a book. secondly, it's obvious that Trump has been a puppet in this 10 year plan to take over America. the true brains behind this plan are some of the brightest villans in the story; Bannon, Stone, Flint, etc. are the true villans who waited patiently to put a megalomaniac, narcissistic liar who could be easily manipulated. the book did a good job in telling this story but gave too much credit to trump for his part in this plan.

Nobody is in a better position to tell the story of the shocking final chapter of the Trump show than Jonathan Karl. As the reporter who has known Donald Trump longer than any other White House correspondent, Karl told the story of Trump’s rise in the New York Times best seller Front Row at the Trump Show. Now he tells the story of Trump’s downfall, complete with riveting behind-the-scenes accounts of some of the darkest days in the history of the American presidency.

Authors should write and performers should perform
Revisado: 08-09-22
I watch this author speak on TV and was happy to see he had a book coming out. Unfortunately he should have gotten one of the recognized performers to read the book. They truly lend such a story the seriousness it deserves. The book was excellent. As honest as possible I think. Bad timing, since the January 6 committee has reported many of their findings and there's now more to the story. I look forward to the next book picking up where this one left off.

Historia
The transition from President Donald J. Trump to President Joseph R. Biden Jr. stands as one of the most dangerous periods in American history. But as number one internationally best-selling author Bob Woodward and acclaimed reporter Robert Costa reveal for the first time, it was far more than just a domestic political crisis. Woodward and Costa interviewed more than 200 people at the center of the turmoil, resulting in more than 6,000 pages of transcripts - and a spellbinding and definitive portrait of a nation on the brink.

A Horror Story
Revisado: 10-03-21
I was completely entranced throughout the entire book. I went back and listened to chapters over and over as I did my chores. Sometimes I was enraged by the information I heard. Sometimes I was scared, especially at the thought of another trump presidency. Mostly I think that there is a huge faction in this country that is terribly ignorant and want someone to do what they do. They want someone who's rude and racist and poorly educated. They want someone who doesn't respect women and feels they always deserve more than they get. We know that trump is a narcissist and a power monger but it amazes me that anyone would follow him. I have read all of Woodward's books on on trump and this was the best written and the most frightening. I think Costa brought a lot to this book. I always enjoy listening to him on MSNBC and of course I love everything Woodward writes. this book predicted what would happen in Afghanistan and laid out the potential for a civil war in the USA. I hope Biden reads this book.

a beautiful story about relationships
Revisado: 06-29-21
This was one of the sweetest books I've read about multi generational relationships. The author truly captured the essence of all the many relationships, from sisters to wife to friend, and then nailed it with the old man and the boy.
