Historia
In this fascinating narrative, therapist Catherine Gildiner presents five of what she calls her most heroic and memorable patients. Among them: A successful, first-generation Chinese immigrant musician suffering sexual dysfunction; a young woman whose father abandoned her at age nine with her younger siblings in an isolated cottage in the depth of winter; and a glamorous workaholic whose narcissistic, negligent mother greeted her each morning of her childhood with "Good morning, Monster". Each patient presents a mystery, one that will only be unpacked over years.

The hidden monster in my life
Revisado: 11-18-22
I was recommended this book by a friend who shared no details and made 1 request that I listen to each story to the end no matter what.
I can honestly say this book was a deep dive from the very beginning. I listen to the first story and fell to tears when I heard details about being an ACOA. I loved how I was able to use her references to do outside research that clarified a lot of hidden things in my life. As each story went on it got harder and harder for me to admit that I had been suffering in silence and needed to heal. When I compared my life to the stories I was listening to I realized I had a lot to be grateful for and there was still time for me to move forward in ways I didn't know we're available to me.
I will also say that I have recommended this book to several people before even completing it because I knew the value of the words both said and unsaid within this.

Historia
I didn't set out to create a new translation of the Tao Te Ching when writing The Way. Since Lao Tzu wrote it in the fourth century BC, it has become one of the most widely translated works in the world and hardly needs a new scholarly treatment. Instead, I sought to capture the way the verses have come alive in me with language and metaphors that are more easily understood by a modern Western listener.

81 Verses of understanding differently
Revisado: 09-20-22
I love when the narrator of the book is either someone with a capturing voice that allows you to dive deep within the story or in this case it was the writer.
I had an opportunity to listen to these 81 verses and pick out a few that really resonated with me.
because this book is not very long I can always go back and listen to it whenever I feel I want to go into a meditative state.
I will say that this book is entertaining to those seeking this type of information otherwise the pace is a little fast and the information can appear to be cut and dry what I will say is most important is how you receive the message shared when it comes to this book.

Historia
As Martha Beck says in her book, “Integrity is the cure for psychological suffering. Period.” In The Way of Integrity, Beck presents a four-stage process that anyone can use to find integrity, and with it, a sense of purpose, emotional healing, and a life free of mental suffering. Much of what plagues us—people pleasing, staying in stale relationships, negative habits—all point to what happens when we are out of touch with what truly makes us feel whole.

Things I now notice about life
Revisado: 03-24-22
I was watching an interview with India Arie and she mentioned this book, right away I purchased and could not wait to dive in.
I love the examples, the questions I got to ask myself to make discoveries, and the level of vulnerability displayed by the author.
hearing certain stories in the book allowed me to look at my life in a new way and my cleanse is going to be epic because of it.

The Will introduction behind the scenes
Revisado: 11-27-21
I enjoyed this book laughter, tears, holding my breath really feeling the emotions throughout each spoken word. I truly believe no one could have told this story better. I really enjoyed the voice changes, the music, and all of the intimate details that really made this come to life.
I like most people thought I knew Will Smith from watching television and interview segments however how much can you really know of a person without hearing their story. he admitted some things that I thought were Brave and he shared intimate details of his marriage that actually helped me in my own my husband is from Philly and it was very interesting, to say the least.
I encourage anyone who wants to not just be entertained but get to know someone who has shaped culture and possibly their life this is a book that is not just about Will Smith but about hearing certain things that is relatable in your own that you may have not recognized before.
