Unexpected Twist!
Revisado: 08-04-24
In true KLL fashion for this series, the plot turns and twists are always a surprise, but the twist near the end of the book blew me away! I never saw that coming! I hope the series continues because I can’t wait to see where it takes us! The possibilities are endless.

Unexpectedly Entertaining!
Revisado: 06-09-15
I started listening to this book expecting it to be dry with technical specifications that were going to be way over my head. NOT SO! I was pleasantly surprised with a wealth of information delivered in a personal way at a level the average person could follow and laced with humor and personality! On par with the content was the superb narration. This book never lost my interest and left me wanting to go out on the Web to find out more!

Thoroughly Enjoyable!
Revisado: 04-26-15
The skillful way Ms Kearsley interwove the two time periods into one story...which were really two stories on parallel paths...was seamless and without a hitch. It was as if time bent and touched between Mary's time and Sara's. The narration was SUPERB and greatly added to the listener being able to become part of the action; from feeling out of breath and anxious in some parts to teary eyed in others. Liking historical novels, I especially appreciated the attention to historical detail that Ms Kearsley went to great pains to accurately depict. The Author's notes at the end actually enhanced the story for me and the cherry on the top was when she cited Mary's actual length of life span. Ms Kearsley is truly a gifted story weaver and, I, too, liked her ending better !

Historia
A kiss can make everything better. Sometimes, it can make it worse. Heathcliff McKinnon, a nineteenth century Scottish laird, is desperate to communicate with his new voiceless daughter-so desperate, he'll accept help from any quarter, or so he thinks. But when aid arrives in the person of a lovely-though odd-American woman, he realizes something sinister is afoot and he cannot trust her. He will not risk the safety of his precious child no matter what his lonely heart tries to tell him.

Excellent Holiday Entertainment!

The tone of the dialogue was most enjoyable. Having two narrators greatly added to the presentation of the story, and was terrific! It leaves you with the feeling that you want to message the author to ask if there is a follow up to the story...what happened next??? Enjoyed it very much.

Simply Audilicious!
Revisado: 10-01-13
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
This is a great listen. The story was captivating and the narration was superbly done; far better than the original.
What other book might you compare Whiskey Beach to and why?
Whiskey Beach is very much in the category of Nora Roberts' Inn BoonsBoro Trilogy...full of suspense, humor, and of course ROMANCE! There are parts where you just have to laugh out loud!
Have you listened to any of Luke Daniels’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I listened to Luke Daniels in the Iron Druid Chronicles series by Kevin Hearne, and was so excited to see that he was the narrator for this re-record. He was OUTSTANDING as usual!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I would have LOVED to listen to this story all at one time, but, as that was not possible, I made sure to do what I usually do and re-listen to the last few minutes where I left off so I could get back into the story. However, that really wasn't necessary because I found that I was quickly and totally submerged within 30 seconds of returning!
Any additional comments?
Nora Roberts is one of my favorite authors, so I did enjoy the story the first time I listened to it when I originally purchased it. However, the narration of the re-record was such a vast improvement over the original version that it was like I hadn't really heard it before at all! It was entertaining and full of suspense and fun! I truly believe that Luke Daniels' talent was the perfect compliment to Nora's! True synergy!

Captivating!
Revisado: 07-05-13
Would you listen to The Lost Symbol again? Why?
I would listen again now that I know the story, just to capture the little details I may have missed in the excitement of the plot.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Lost Symbol?
The end was memorable for sure, but so were the "a-ha" moments that Langdon had throughout the story.
What does Paul Michael bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The narrator's smooth delivery and distinct character voices enabled me to easily create a pictorial in my head and react to the emotional aspect of situations.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
This book left me with an excitement to explore some of the finer fact points. I was left with a feeling of being uplifted.
Any additional comments?
Wonderful story. Sad, happy, thought-provoking, scary, and gorey in parts, but a great book.
