Nice, but difficult to put together. You have to have a lot of patience to put this together, and I do not.

Historia
Born a tanner’s son in rugged Ohio in 1822 and battle-tested by the Mexican-American War, Grant met his destiny on the bloody fields of the Civil War. His daring and resolve as a general gained the attention of President Lincoln, then desperate for bold leadership. Lincoln appointed Grant as Lieutenant General of the Union Army in March 1864. Within a year, Grant’s forces had seized Richmond and forced Robert E. Lee to surrender.

A learning experience
Revisado: 10-30-23
In my 1970s and 1980s social studies in history classes, none of this was taught. What I can recall from my high school days was that Grant was a great Civil War hero but a not so great U.S. President. This is a piece of history that should’ve been paid more attention to in high school by the high school teachers and they’re students.
Baier and Whitney did an excellent job of piecing together this important time in history. I was fascinated by the accounts and came away with a larger respect for Ulysses S Grant. A very good read.

A sweeping narrative ranging from the unsettled early American frontier and the battlefields of the Revolution to the history-making clashes within Philadelphia’s Independence Hall, Bret Baier’s To Rescue the Constitution dramatically illuminates the life of George Washington, the Founder who did more than perhaps any other individual to secure the future of the United States.

Bret Baier pulls you in…
Revisado: 10-21-23
Brett Bair commands his audience and pulls you into a different time in our Nation’s History. I was quite surprised and fascinated with the Founding Fathers struggle to ratify the Constitution. The book reenforced parts of history I already knew, but taught me a lot I didn’t. It’s a great read for all Americans.

Historia
They say that only truck drivers experience the true grandeur and landscape of America. In A Trucker's Tale, Ed Miller gives an inside look at the allure of the work and the colorful characters who haul our goods on the open road. He shares what it was like to grow up in a trucking family, his experience as an equipment officer in Vietnam, and the trials and tribulations of life as a trucker. His tales are often funny, sometimes sad, cringeworthy, or unbelievable. Many are the results of what he calls "just plain stupidity."

Revisado: 06-22-23
This is the fourth book in the series that I have listened to. I have learned so much that I did not learn as a child growing up in school. The history of our country, is brought back to life, and though our history has dark issues, it’s our history. The way the stories are written, they keep you pulled in. They keep your attention, and it gives you a better respect for those men and women that did so much for our country. I’m proud to be an American, and I will continue to listen to the stories.
