An amazing escape listen and prequel
Revisado: 10-25-19
In the Sigma Surrogate, JT paints a futuristic world where there is a bit of a fertility crises going on, hence the need for pure surrogates to keep humanity going. Might I add that some of the technology JT depicted in this world was awesome... pity it won;t be that real in the real 2021 which is but a stone throw away in time.
Keke is a journalist who is looking for a her big break through story. So when she gets an anonymous tip off, she thinks she might have hit the jackpot. To be a surrogate in this world is a highly respected position in society according to most. So when a surrogate gets attacked, this is cause for high concern but it is also being kept quiet definitely peaks Keke's interest.
JT definitely knows how to develop and create some interesting characters. So let's discuss a few of my favourites:
Keke - It took me a little while to warm up to her. Initially I couldn't quite get a read on how I felt about her, but she is quite a straight forward characters. The more I got to know her, the more I got to love her. You get to see that her heart really is in the right place. It is in her nature to want to share the truth with society as a journalist, but it is also in her nature to protect those she feels connected and attached to. At times Keke's companionship preferences were a bit confusing and to be honest I wasn't always sure if she was straight, gay or bi. She kept it interesting to say the least. Plus I suppose in their world it is about who you know and how you can benefit from each other. I was quite happy with the partner she ended up with though.
Keke does get herself into some sticky situations, but I guess that is why we love her.
Marko / MM - We meet MM later in the story and to be honest I just adored him the same as Keke does. He is just sweet and so caring. His geeky ways just add to his character. He knows Keke is out of his league but he helps her anyway and I love that about him, especially in the dating world where it seems to be I'll take what I can get and well your loss if it doesn't suit me. Guess you will have to read/listen to this to meet him and see what I mean!
Betty - Ooooh I want to know so much more about Betty!! She only features about 3 or 4 times. She is definitely unstable but I want to know why???? The introduction here is a great lead into the full series. I feel so sorry for Betty and just want to really know what is going on and what she knows. What truth is she trying to get through to another character, Kirsten. And how does Kirsten's boyfriend, James, really know her? What ever fuels Betty is a great side story line in this story and I cannot wait to find out more in the next book.
JT rounds up the story nicely, with what I am sure is a few good openings to the Original series. I can't wait to see where exactly these characters that I have come to adore fit into the main story.

Loved every minute!
Revisado: 10-03-19
I loved this book sooooooo much! It is one of those books that just get right down to the heart of things and pull you in in a matter of chapters.
I was very lucky that I was gifted the audio book version from the Author, so I made it my daily commute listen which was quickly addictive due to the colourful characters that JT created.
It is the perfectly balanced book with emotion and suspense as the story unravels. At some points I wondered how on earth Raven was going to get out of the mess of her life that she was in.
One of the other factors that I just adored about this book was all the 'South African-isms' she includes in her writing. I am so used to everything being Americanized that when these little sparkles SA popped up it brought an instant smile to my face.
It is a wonderful stand alone, but you can't help wanting more of Raven, Kruger and the crew.
Please please please give us some more of this amazing series JT! The world needs it... and so do I ;)
Definitely a high recommendation from me!

A Fantastic Romantic Suspense Adventure
Revisado: 10-24-14
Where does Passion, Power and Sin rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Initially I wanted to review Passion, Power & Sin book by book but I caught up in the story that I lost track of where one book began and where the next book started. It was just that good! I didn't think Mike could top Lust, money and Murder - which is one of my favourite audio books ever. Passion Power & Sin is equally on par in my opinion.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I loved Enzo, he just crept into my heart and melted it. I loved Gareth and Heather too!!
What about Karin Allers’s performance did you like?
Karin has a great voice. She is easy to listen to and acts out the various characters brilliantly. In the beginning I thought the transitions were sometimes a bit rough but as the story progressed it evened out. She is versatile and her accents are perfect.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes!
Any additional comments?
I didn't think Mike could top Lust, money and Murder - which is one of my favourite audio books ever. Passion Power & Sin is equally on par in my opinion.
Definitely 'unputdownable'!!

A great adventure!
Revisado: 08-15-14
What made the experience of listening to Akasha the most enjoyable?
The plot is brilliant with twists and turns you don't see coming. Terra paces everything perfectly.
What did you like best about this story?
The character growth for all the characters throughout the story.
What three words best describe Emily Gittelman’s performance?
Initially I found Emily's narration to be a bit staccato getting in to the book. She didn't really draw me into the characters until about halfway through the first book where her pace evened out. I found that I enjoyed her voice when she acts out the other characters like Micah, Shawn and Cato more than when she is the main character Kaitlyn. By book two I settled into her narration style a little bit better and she became the characters more fully. Her transitions were fluid which helped the flow of the story.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
yes, it tugged at my heartstrings throughout the story.
Any additional comments?
This was a great adventure and one that I will gladly listen to again!

Everything. The pace was brilliant and the story line kept my attention through all the books.

All of them but I enjoyed Nick the most when he appeared. I also really enjoy some of the smaller characters like Toni & Dimitri.
