Historia
A funny, moving, and true story of an ordinary boy with an extraordinary face that's perfect for fans of Wonder - now available in the U.S. When Robert Hoge was born, he had a tumor the size of a tennis ball in the middle of his face and short, twisted legs. Surgeons removed the tumor and made him a new nose from one of his toes. Amazingly, he survived - with a face that would never be the same. Strangers stared at him. Kids called him names, and adults could be cruel, too. Everybody seemed to agree that he was “ugly”.

It was so interesting to listen to this story. I taught a student who was born with a similar mass on her face. to think about the pain and struggles that she has been through makes me have a whole new respect for her.

Historia
If God can take David - the invisible eighth son of a forgotten family - and turn him into a king, just imagine what magnificent plans He has for redeeming your life. David was born a number eight - a hidden gem, often overlooked and undervalued by everyone except for God. For David, being a number eight seemed like a curse until the day God transformed him from the unknown eighth son of Jesse into the much-honored king of Israel. Even when you're an underdog in the eyes of the world, God is working behind the scenes to develop you into a king or queen.

When Germany invaded Poland, bombers devastated Warsaw - and the city's zoo along with it. Another dozen "guests" hid inside the Zabinskis' villa, emerging after dark for dinner, socializing, and, during rare moments of calm, piano concerts.

Historia
It's just a small story really, about, among other things, a girl, some words, an accordionist, some fanatical Germans, a Jewish fist-fighter, and quite a lot of thievery. Set during World War II in Germany, Markus Zusak's groundbreaking new novel is the story of Liesel Meminger, a foster girl living outside of Munich. Liesel scratches out a meager existence for herself by stealing when she encounters something she can't resist: books.

Audie Award, Humor, 2016. In Furiously Happy, number-one New York Times best-selling author Jenny Lawson explores her lifelong battle with mental illness. A hysterical, ridiculous book about crippling depression and anxiety? That sounds like a terrible idea. But terrible ideas are what Jenny does best.
